The sales force plays a huge part in how comfortable the customer feels about the contract they are signing. The turnaround time of a contract depends on the time it takes to negotiate the contract. In the U.S. it takes 15-20 hours to negotiate a contract and in Europe it is over 100

Contracts are essential in the business world and apply to both large and small businesses (Lau, 2011). Essentially, contracts are a legally enforceable promise to do something in exchange for something of value (Beesley, 2016). Elements of a contract formation include offer, acceptance and consideration (Colorado State University – Global Campus, 2016). Without proper formation, contracts can be invalid (Lau, 2011). The six elements of contract formation are offer, acceptance, consideration, mutuality of obligation, competency and capacity, and sometimes a written instrument (US Legal, n.d.). Contracts can be both bilateral, meaning an agreement between two parties, or unilateral, where action is taken by one party or group (Lau, 2011). This…

The job that I am looking for is full-time accountant and many companies have openings for staff accountant. Though I have Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and will gain Graduate Diploma, my shortage is that it is my first time to find full-time job and I have little work experience. So I set my career level as entry level and find relative jobs that only need less than 2-year work experience or that have no requirement on years of work experience. Under this situation, I can highlight my unique education, skills and intern-experience.…

    Salary Negotiations

    * This negotiation was an important one from a career point of view as it involves a salary negotiation for an existing job. I have never been in a situation where I have actually negotiated a salary for a person working under me, so it was a good experience for me. I was playing the role of Pat Lynch, V.P. of marketing for Rapid Leatherhead Goods Company. There are 4 main product lines which comprise the major portion of the company’s online sales. A new director for marketing was hired two years ago for mail order sales. He has done a good job with three lines, but the fourth line, which was a problem even before he joined, is still a problem and there has not been an increase in sales for that product. It is the company’s premier brand and it is important for the company’s image that the sales increase for that line. This is the time of year for salary adjustments and I feel a salary hike of $4,000 (6 2/3%) is good for his efforts. I was surprised when he asked for a 20% increase in salary as I thought that was excessive, but then he showed me the new sales figures which I did not have. We negotiated over the figures and thought of a way to negotiate the salary. He was quite forceful about taking other figures into account and to determine the salary based on all criteria. I was adamant to take Top Flite, the aforementioned fourth product line, into account as it was the main objective. I thought of ways to satisfy us both.…

A 7 day lead time generated higher revenue than the other contract terms during the first 50 days. However, we observed that there was a stretch of 5-8 days when the lead time was below a 1 day lead time during the first 50 days. Evaluating the first 50 days more closely revealed that approximately every 15-20 days, the lead time dropped substantially. Noticing a pattern, and aware that a different contract time could generate more revenue, we decided to micromanage the contracts to optimize revenue. For the duration of simulation, we adjusted contract according to the trending lead time. In times of high demand, when a lead time was more than 18 hours, we opted not to use contract #3 because of the cost of each order (avg. job cost+ordering cost = $608.33)…
