The weather has been hot lately as summer was coming by. Sunny days with gentle wind at the beaches welcomed every people near Madanna beach to stop by. My family and I also grabbed this chance to go for a family outing. We went to Madanna beach by car. We went there in the morning excitedly until we forgot to take our breakfast. When we arrived, I saw the beach was full of people doing variety of activities. Some of them were swimming under the sun, canoeing, boat riding and some of the people were taking selfies. My mother enjoyed herself by looking at the lovely scenery of the beach. While me and my mother were taking our things out of the car, my younger sisters ran as fast as lighting to the beach and started to build their own sandcastle as their first activity there. I took out my DSLR camera and started to take some pictures with my mother to keep it as a precious memory of our family. As we were tickled pink enjoying our own activity, suddenly the black sky overcast with heavy rain clouds. The trees along the beach dance frantically in the wind. The rain started like cats and dogs. We packed our things quickly and jumped into the car as a big storm might happen anytime. We took a look at the sea waves and it was surprising that it became wild in a blink of an eye. There was a bad traffic jammed on our way back home. The street was crowded with cars, vans, busses and even motorcycle waiting to pick up the children after school. They parked haphazardly along the street make it difficult for people to cross the street. Other vehicles were speeding along even there was speed limit sign. Suddenly, I saw a young boy who was running quickly without looking to the left or to the right to cross the street. The vehicles honked mercilessly on the street. Unfortunately, a motorcycle hit the unlucky young boy. The boy was flung up in the air for a moment before his books scattering everywhere on the street. The accident

I was first to arrive at the wreckage. It was a head on collision caused by a dust storm. My brother had been slowing down when the Ford truck appeared out of nowhere sitting in the middle of the road. The first thing I noticed was that my brother’s girlfriend was hobbling around with one foot twisted a sick way. She was walking on her ankle and not her foot at all, I had come to realize as I dragged her away from my brother and into my truck. I had to do that because my brother was starting to panic and I couldn’t let him go into shock. I noticed blood on the airbags when I first glanced at the wreckage but thought nothing of it. As soon as she was safe I ran to my brother and he said calmly, “Mac I’m stuck, it’s bad, it’s real bad.”…

My mother, sister, and I were driving down Highway 124 on a hot July day when my mom screamed and slammed on the breaks. Fear rushed through our bodies. Outside the car window, a short young African American man was launched into the air. As he came down, a loud boom sounded as his body helplessly rolled off the hood of the faint green Toyota Corolla in front of us. The man lay motionless in the road while we waited for what seemed like hours for the driver to exit the car. His red shirt and gym shorts were ripped. The driver of the opposing car threw the vehicle in reverse in a spasmodic action in an attempt to end the man’s life. The injured man made an effort to crawl onto the Wendy’s sidewalk, forcing his body up on the curb to evade the car. The driver drove up onto the curb and blew its tire, just barely missing the wounded man. Realizing the driver would stop at nothing, my mother drove her white suburban in front of the car, blocking the violent perpetrator from doing any further damage.…

Attention Material: My friend Susan’s son a nine-year-old boy named Tom and his father were on their way back from a gathering at their friend’s house. As they crossed the street, Susan noticed a small white car driving very quickly towards them. The car lights were turned off, so they didn’t notice the car until it got really close to them. They tried to run as quickly as they could, but the car was much faster than them. Susan and her husband managed to get off the street, and as they looked back, they saw the car driving over their son. Tom was taken to the hospital, and unfortunately he is permanently paralyzed. All this was the result of drunk driving.…

The first beach we went to was so cool, it was the coolest beach I have ever seen. There was a lot of surfers there, they were all super good at surfing. We stayed and watched them surf for a while but what we weren’t noticing was the waves. My brother and I were on the sand and since we were looking at the surfers this huge wave comes and gets us entirely wet, which technically we got wet without haven’t even gotten in the water. We went to another beach after that and I was called Baby Beach. We got there and I practically noticed why it was called Baby Beach, there was literally little kids everywhere and the water was not even deep. We still got in but it wasn’t so fun, well obviously the water went deeper but there was a rope that was to say that “the water drops when you pass this.” We had a barbecue later on that night, with the entire family and it was yummy. There is nothing better than home cooked family meals. We were all tired so we went back the hotel and it was time to lay our heads on the pillows. The next day we practically spent the entire day sightseeing again and later that night it was time to head off back to Arizona. It sucked that we had to leave but it had to happen that way. The trip back seemed like it took longer than coming to…

The sand was white and the water was super clear. On the beach, people were scuba diving everywhere and my grandparents said we go if we wanted too. When we got on all our gear and got into the water, there was fish swimming around everywhere I swam. All of them were tropical fish so the fish were all different colors. The coral was sensationally close to us and so was the fish. Afterwards, my sister and I were collecting shells and paddle boarding, but we eventually potency back to the boat since we had a…

The image of myself in the crevice of the sand underwater and the top layer of the ocean replays in my mind often. I can recall the moment’s features exactly. A few days later, my sister Andie told me how terrified she was seeing my head roll under the water in the distance. It is apparent to me that this is what big sisters are for, her timing really came in at the right moment to watch over me that day. I remember hearing Andie screaming as I fell in and out of consciousness “Mom take her! Mom! Take her!”. Andie had ripped me out of the water as the waves crashed over, throwing us into sharp coral on the shore. Every bash into the coral was a cut against our skin. We wrestled with the land. This end portion to me is all a blur. My sister handed me off to my mom and my haze of a nightmare experience was over.…

Core value 1 says, “Writing is a multi-stage, recursive, and social process”. The first part “writing is a multi-stage process”, basically implies that there are a lot of steps in creating a well-written paper. There is a lot of pre-reading needed in order to gather information and better one’s understanding of the topic being discussed. For example, for essay one I had to read different articles before I began writing and then do a pre-writing in which I discussed my readings. I found myself effortlessly adding details from those articles into my paper. Another way writing is a multi-stage process is that you must write multiple drafts and get them revised until you create your final draft. This brings us to the “social process” aspect of core value one. Whenever a draft is finished, the writer must speak with different people in order to gather different opinions about their paper. The writer may also speak with people before writing the paper in order to gather different opinions on the topic being written about. One example of this is discussing our topics we wrote about in class. “Writing is a recursive process” implies that each time I write a paper I take the same steps. I do pre-reading, pre-writing, summarize my pre-readings, and eventually write the paper and get it revised until I complete a final draft. With every essay I wrote in comp 1 came pre-readings assigned by my professor. After I read those I eventually wrote a summary and incorporated those readings into my essay. After finishing the first draft, it was revised by peers and eventually by Mr. Han. I repeated this process for each essay I wrote.…

Irritated by my mom’s nagging, I mumbled nonsense between my teeth, and slowly buckled up my seatbelt. Then, I took out my earphones to enjoy my favorite music. My mother was trying to drive into the parking lot when all of sudden, a motorcycle suddenly came towards us. The man on the motorcycle was driving at a speed of approximately 40 miles per hour, and he was going so fast that he couldn’t control anything. My mom tried her best to change the direction of the car, but she wasn’t fast enough, causing the two vehicles to crash into each other. As soon as our car slammed into the motorcycle, the man’s body went flying into the air, and the motorcycle was knocked down to the ground. The man with dark brown eyes and a mustache deeply injured…

A beautiful summer day in San Diego. Sun shinning, clear skies. I was cruising down San Diego Bay with my siblings, cousins, aunt, and dad. I was so excited to see my aunt, uncle and cousins, considering I haven't seen them in years. I regretted having so much fun remembering my mother was home sick with the flu, but I pushed the thought away and continued to play on the top of the boat with my cousin. I was talking with my sister, Savannah, and cousin, Brekyn, when the boat slowed to a stop.…

On September second, I was riding my motorcycle towards the 76 gas station on 6th Street in Eugene. When I was a few blocks from my destination, a lady in a red Grand Caravan ran a stop sign at the exact time I rode through the intersection. With my horrible luck at that moment, my life flashed before my eyes. She ran it. I tried to lean the bike towards the rear of the car to miss her, but that spawn of Satan hit reverse and I collided with her rear end. My lower torso trapped between the vehicles, I then flew right off my bike over the top of the vehicle and smashed into the middle of the intersection, my left shoulder and head taking the blunt of the impact. At that moment I noticed my left leg looked disfigured in such a way I had never seen. The lower half of my left leg was completely broken in half. I noticed that there were countless people around the accident watching to see what was going on. Several people quickly ran up to me and started holding my head still while keeping me from trying to walk on my leg. Some of them even heard the crash…

On my birthday of this year, I was on my bicycle in the early morning I am a good cyclist. But every good turns becomes bad when fate goes against a person. At Ranihat, a heavy truck was rushing front, from the opposite side. A bullock cart was there on the road. I thought that the cart-man would halt there till the truck passed by. But the cart-man suddenly left his cart in motion. I was caught between the cart and the truck. I could not decide what to do. I lost all control on my nerve. The front wheel of my bicycle got into a wheel of the cart and I fell down before its wheel. I was fortunate enough not to be darted before the truck. Otherwise I would have been subject to an instant death on the very spot. The cart-man could not control his bullocks and the wheel rolled on my spinal chord. There and then, I got senseless. I do not know how my skull was wounded. Perhaps it was due to a heavy kick charged by one of the bullock.…

Although it's been almost two years now, I can still remember that day as if it were yesterday. We were all glued in front of the television, when dad came rushing into the house after work to tell us that he had just bought a new cabin cruiser. He promised us that the following week he'd take us all on a fishing trip. We were all very excited and happy at the prospect of it. I spent the next few days daydreaming about how wonderful it would be. When the much-awaited day finally came, and dad drove us to the yacht marina, I was awe-struck by the sheer beauty of the boat, shimmering in that hot sunny August morning. After we packed everything onto the boat, dad started the engine and steered it slowly out of the harbour. We headed out until we were a good distance from the shore. Then, when we found what seemed like a good spot for fishing, dad stopped the engine and lowered the anchor. The sky was crystal clear and the sea was as calm as a sheet of glass.…
