Case # 1. Arnold Schwarzenegger: Leader of California?
Questions for Discussion:
1. What words would you use to describe Arnold Schwarzenegger’s personality? – As far as I’m concerned, Schwarzenegger is recognized as a self-sufficient, independent, hardworking person who has the ability to solve the problems quickly. He is very strong goal oriented person, solid truthful person, and charismatic as well.
Do any of this fit into Big Five Taxonomy of personality? – I believe Extraversion is the good statement from Big Five Taxonomy which describes Schwarzenegger’s personality.
How might these personality traits influence Schwarzenegger’s leadership skills? – He set up clear and ambitious goals when he was governor, even he had a problem with that sometimes. Very strait in his decisions and want to solve problems instantly, on this way he is not enough flexible manager so he putted extra pressure to teachers union.
How might these traits have helped Schwarzenegger get to where he is now? – These traits will help him in his career of governor due to fact he went step by step to current position and I believe that restless in bodybuilding, outstanding traits in acting and having good networking skills, along this aspects he got lot of influent friends and they helped him.
