Comparing Two Cities In Knoxville, Tennessee
In the past 10 years of my life I have lived in two different locations. The first one is Knoxville, Tennessee and the second is Naples, Florida. They are similar in some ways and different in other ways. Both cities have a couple of months where their economy is strongest and months where it isn’t as busy. The enviroment between the two cities are very different, and lastly the type of people that live in the two cities. While there are differences, the two locations have similarities most people might not think of.
Fall in Knoxville is perhaps the highlight of the year simply for one reason, Saturdays. Whenever the University of Tennessee’s football team is playing at home 108,000 fans are going to the game spending millions of dollars. There is nothing better than watching a home victory and then going out in downtown Knoxville. Not only that but also the fans of the opposing team that rent hotels and go out to eat for every meal. At least a couple thousand of people that aren’t even from Knoxville. All the various restaurants and night life attract all walks of life. Knoxville is in the middle of a large valley in the Smokey Mountains, and Naples is in Southwest Florida. During the summer it is almost impossible to tell which is hotter, since Knoxville is in the valley it keeps heat in because of the mountains surrounding it. Although in the winter it gets to freezing temperatures while Naples gets to about fifty degrees. Occasionally it snows in Knoxville but I don’t believe it has ever snowed south of Jacksonville.
