Comparing The Monkey's Paw And The Third Wish
In this essay, I’ll be describing the similarities of the moods, main characters, and resolutions between two-short stories, The Monkey’s Paw, and The Third Wish. Both stories have three wishes. The characters in each story are Mr. White from The Monkey’s Paw which was written by W. W. Jacobs, and Mr. Peters from The Third Wish by Joan Aiken. The Monkey’s Paw is about a family who obtained a cursed monkey paw, as they make their wishes consequences happen but not in a way you imagined it. And The Third Wish is about a man who saved a swan who gives him three wishes.
