The head is looking upward with an open mouth and completely open eyes. These features on the face suggest that it might be a mask and the posture of the figure depicts a position of chanting or in a state of trance. From the front view we are able to see that there is headdress and ear spools, both of which depict high social class. The figure is also wearing a pendant with teeth that covers the chest as well as teeth that cover the ankles. Several flowers are shown from the front view mainly located on the shins as well as the knees. The three classifications of flowers shown from the front view are as follows: knees-xochanacatl or "flower mushrooms," right shin-sinicuichi or “yellow flower,” and the left shin- Ololiúqui or “morning glory.” The morning glory in particular consisted of a vine with white bell shaped flowers and this particular flower can be seen on several other parts of the figure. ‘Persimmons and silk’ was printed in 1997 by Cressida Campbell, an Australian artist born in Sydney 1960. This piece of artwork is a woodblock print, drawn directly onto a plywood block using a linear drawing technique and is …cm x …cm. When the viewer looks at this piece of artwork they almost feel as if they are standing right above the table. There is also a sense that it is slightly Japanese in the use of colours and setout, and particularly in the pattern of the tablecloth.…

The image has minimal colours used, which are basic primary colours. The ratio of the different colours is fairly equal making it seem balanced and very blocky. The colourful flag contrasts to the tonal black and white image of the Queen, making the image strong and symbolic. The flag appears like it is creased in some places which are why I think it could be a real fabric flag and not just a painting or print. I think it could have been done using screen…
