Compare & Contrast Report on Guatemala and Nigeria – Teams 3 & 4
Section 1 – Introduction The following report is a compare and contrast of the viability for starting a business in either Guatemala or Nigeria. It will also include some details on the overall business climate of both countries and other geographic, social, and economic factors. Factors that we will discuss include standards of living, education, overall economy, infrastructure, communication, transportation, geographic, climate, natural resources, and crime & war. All of these items would be things that must be considered before beginning any business endeavors in either region.
If you look at a sample of costs for good and services in both regions you will see that there are a number of instances in which items cost more in Nigeria, some of which will be due to items discussed in the report to follow.

The differences found in this chart can be indicative of the challenges that these countries face in particular areas, sometimes as a matter of supply and demand or other times due to distribution logistics. Another factor could be cultural differences that will influence the differences. There are also other factors that can be included in a comparison of these two countries. These items will be in areas that are less quantitative but are none the less important. Areas of cultural heritage, arts, entertainment, are also influences on the overall economy of the areas. An establishment of these items within a country is often an indication of the strength of a countries education system which is an important factor for business viability. Section 2 - Similarities
Nigeria and Guatemala are similar in geography as both have some coastal plains, hills, and plateaus. With this type of land both countries are able to be strong exports of many agriculture
