Compare And Contrast The Due Process Model And The Crime Control Model
In 1964, Herbert Packer introduced two criminal justice models, The Due Process Model and The Crime Control Model. The Crime Control Model is known to be a conservative approach to crime that focuses on protecting society from criminals by regulating criminal conduct and justice. This model introduces strict and swift punishment for crimes and is an effective tool in society due to the fact that it strikes fear in criminals because they will be punished harshly. It also causes cases to move through the court system as swiftly as possible even if they have to expand the powers of the courts. This model's’ goal is to get through the court process quickly and punish the offender. Whereas, The Due Process Model is a more liberal approach to criminal
