Compare And Contrast Republican And Democrats
America’s two-party system is as old as the country itself, but the first two political parties weren’t called democrats and republicans, they were the federalists and the anti-federalists. The term democrats and republicans went official in 1792. The two parties are split on their very different views in various subjects. These subjects are tax policies, social issues, labor and free trade, health care, and crime and capital punishment. One important subject that the two parties are split on are tax policies. Each party both favors tax cuts, but they both think that the taxes should be cut in different ways and be cut for certain people. The Republican Party believes that there should be tax cuts for everyone, both corporations and people of all income levels. But the Democratic Party believes that there should be tax cuts for middle and lower income families, and they believe that taxes should be higher on corporations and wealthy individuals. For example, republicans believe in traditional values so they oppose to gay marriage, and are opposed to abortions. This quote from a republican named Donald Trump shows that he is against gay marriage, “I'm not in favor of gay marriage. They should not be able to marry, I just don't feel good about it. I don't feel right about it. I'm against it…” but on the other hand democrats are all for gay marriage.
