Compare and Contrast Football and Ultimate Frisbee
Not a lot of people have heard of Ultimate Frisbee but people jump to conclusions that it is nothing like football; this is where people are wrong. With that observation the two sports Football and Ultimate Frisbee have their similarities and also their differences. Even though football has heavy contact and Ultimate Frisbee has no contact they still have the same goal, which is throwing a flying object to score goals. Both sports being plentiful in differences they both are also great athletic sports for a really good exercise to stay healthy. Ultimate Frisbee is a sport that has derived and became very popular with students in the college population. Ultimate Frisbee or also known as "Ultimate" is a game of courtesy and a display of good etiquette. It is a very fast paced game with many rules and regulations, and a great builder on self-discipline and honesty. Ultimate is played with fourteen players then separated into equal teams. The Frisbee used in the game is a regulation size disk that usually weighs around 170 to 180. The field used for Ultimate is usually consists of a 70 yards long, 40 yards wide-open field with 25 yards long designated end zones. The game begins with the teams lining up on opposite sides of the field from each other and throwing the Frisbee down to the other team on the other side the field, which is called a "Huck". When receiving the Frisbee from the huck the team that received the Frisbee tries to make their way down field to the other end zone. When the team reaches the end zone that they were perusing, then that is considered a score. When dropped passes occur or an opposing player deflects the disk from reaching the receiver it is considered a turnover and the other teams possess the disk. The main goal of the game is to outscore your opponent by scoring touchdowns or goals. A game of Ultimate usually is played to fifteen or the game will have a set time limit. With there being no referees to call the fouls the players

Flickerball was created by Davidson College in 1951 for an alternative for football. Flickerball is very similar to American football. It is usually played in gym classes. The offensive game rules are that players are divided into two equal teams. One team taking the ball at their 10 yard line starts the game. Only passing and catching may advance the football. Passes may be overhand, underhand, or sidearm and in any direction but must go at least 5 years. Hand-offs are illegal. Players most stop once they have caught the ball and past it within 5 seconds. If the ball touches the ground or floor the ball goes to the other team. There are no downs as the ball is continuously in play. It is a touch down when a player catches a pass in the end zone. All touchdowns are worth 1 point. The game is played best when the offensive team spreads out and keeps moving using the entire field.…

There are many rules in kickball. First of all, the participants are divided into two teams, the kicking team and the pitching team. The number of players on the field can vary, but most commonly there are a minimum of seven players on the field and a maximum of 11. Depending on the league you are playing in, there may or may not be a referee enforcing the rules. World Adult Kickball Association rules say games should consist of five innings and should last no less than 45 minutes and no more than 90 minutes. The pitching team fields players in a manner similar to baseball. This side consists of a pitcher and catcher; first, second and third baseman; and three outfielders. If an eighth player is not available, teams can play without a catcher. The pitcher rolls the ball toward the kicker; the ball must be rolling on the ground as it passes over home plate. Once a ball is in play, members of the pitching team try to get the kicker out either by tagging him with the ball or, while holding the ball, touching the base the player is headed for. When the pitching team earns three outs, the inning is over and the teams trade places.…

Game play goes as follows: the ball is rolled towards home plate, and the player which is up (kicking), tries to kick the ball. If the ball is caught in the air, the kicker is out. A player is also out if the ball is thrown at them, and hits them while they are not touching a base. If a thrown ball misses them, they may only run to the next base, which is known on the kickball field as the "one base on an overthrow" rule. Also similar to baseball, if the ball is thrown to the first base man, and it is caught by the first base man while he/she/it is touching first base, the player running to first base is out. This is known as a "forced out" in that the runner was forced to run to that…
