Compare and Contrast Driving in the Winter and Drining in the Summer
Topic: Compare and contrast driving in the winter and driving in the summer.

We may believe that driving an automobile is similar in every season. But we should know that winter and summer offer different pleasures and challenges. The most obvious distinctions between these seasons are the temperature, the roads conditions and the amount of daylight. Indeed, each of these variables can change the driving conditions dramatically. Nevertheless, drivers can also enjoy the road if they respect the limitation of speed limit and the effects of both seasons.
When we are driving in the winter, we often experience limited visibility during precipitation or heavy fog, which requires us to slow down. In case of snow, special equipment such as chains may be needed as well. We also need to make sure that we know how to handle icy or snowy road conditions, because even a small amount of ice on the roads can cause skidding and be hazardous to us and others. Indeed, it’s recommended that we are very careful with accelerating and braking during winter as it can be unpredictable. So, driving in bad winter conditions can be a challenge for even the most competent drivers. Fortunately, when the weather gets worse, more people stay indoors, which makes less traffic for those who have to drive.
It is much easier to drive in the summer, but it still presents a few problems. For instance, a heavy shower or thunderstorm can leave large puddles on the road, which would cause us to hydroplane if we are driving too fast. Summer is also when most road constructions are done, so we must be careful and be aware of directional changes in traffic, detours and of course street closings. We must also beware of blinding sun and take care to use sunglasses or pull down visors.
Because of the absorbent heat in summer, we would use air conditioning to maintain us comfortable. On the other hand, leaving the air conditioning on too long can even cause the car to overheat.

Although summer and winter both occur when the Earth is titled toward the sun, there are very different seasons. The first and most obvious difference between summer and winter is the weather. During the summertime the days are warm and sunny. Temperatures range from 70° and above with a slight breeze, making it enjoyable to be outside. Toward the end of summer people tend to worry about hurricanes and tornadoes. On the other hand, winter days are cold and dark. There is a constant freezing chill making temperatures drop below zero. Normally there are worries about serious snow storms and blizzards. Another noticeable difference between summer and winter consist of the types of activities people participate in during the two seasons. Summer activities tend to involve being outdoors. For example people enjoy trips to the beach, family cookouts, swimming and even long walks. The sounds of kids riding their bikes and fireworks crackling can be heard throughout the days. However, in the winter people occasionally enjoy outdoors activities like sledding, ice skating and snowboarding. Generally during the winter though, people spend most of their time participating in indoor activities like watching movies, readings books, and baking sweets. For the reason that climates are drastically different during the summer and winter, these is also a huge difference in the way a person is dressed. During the summer people dress lightly, wearing simple t-shirts, shorts, flip-flops, and bathing suits. Hats are typically worn to keep the sun out of people's faces. Since the temperatures are high there is no need for any extra clothing or layering. Unlike while in the winter time multiple layers are worn to keep warm. People dress in heavy sweaters, long pants, thick coats, and boots. Hats are also worn during the winter, but not to block the sun but instead to keep the heat in. Last but…

Instead of doing repairs in summer while nobody is at school, repairs happen when kids are in school, which can cause many distractions. Students also can’t go to summer camps if they are in class. “Children learn a lot at summer camps and other recreational programs,” said Abhijit Naik in their article Year-round Schools Pros and Cons. Many summer camps are offered by colleges who can only offer camps when they are on summer break. For older students, it may be hard to balance a summer job and go to school. It is also hard to find a job for only a month and a half. If you play sports you might have practice during the break and have to decide to go to practice or be with your family.
