David and Goliath The story of David and Goliath showed extraordinary faith in God in more ways than you can count. First of all, David was obsequious to God and trusted him to protect him. When Saul questions him he says, “God, who delivered me from the teeth of the lion and the claws of the bear, will deliver me from this Philistine” (1 Samuel 17:37). This excerpt shows that God protected David always. In other words, David exorbitantly trusted God in every aspect of this decision. Another example of his trusting nature was his willingness to fight Goliath. Even though every person told him to not do it, he persevered and decided to go into battle with just a sling and rocks alone. In addition, David was not a trained fighter, but a shepherd

David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell describes that bigger is not necessarily better. Malcolm Gladwell applies this principle among other extensive situations, such as the battlegrounds of Northern Ireland and Vietnam, successful and unsuccessful classrooms, cancer scientists and civil rights leaders. Were as many misconceptions and disadvantages strike young Jamal Malik in the film Slumdog Millionaire. Eighteen year old Jamal answers questions on the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, and flashbacks show how he got there. Jamal and his brother Salim became young thieves after their mother dies in order to survive the streets of Mumbai. Salim finds the life of crime agreeable, but Jamal scrapes by with small jobs until landing a spot on the game show and wins. Gladwell describes in David and Goliath the possibilities of advantages and disadvantages (and the disadvantages of advantages) he talks about the theory of desirable difficulty and the limits of power. Slumdog Millionaire applies to Gladwell’s described concepts, and shows how an inspirational underdog will eventually succeed.…

    Odysseus and Moses represent the standard hero, which is one scarred with imperfections—a hero that commits crimes, lies, deceives, is in some sense immoral. She also approached others, indirectly aiding Odysseus. As a disguised mentor, she encouraged Telemachus to take a stand to the suitors and to take a journey of his own in search of his father, restoring his hope. She sent the Phaencian Princess Nassiuca done to water to wash her clothes resultantly finding Odysseus.
