Communication opinion paper Effective communication incorporates the basic elements of communication because communication is just not an expression that exploited from ones mouth but it actually begins most to the person that can understand. Communication depends profoundly on a confidence as sustain in a joint effort as soon as concentrating and facilitates one spotlight on the procedure of performing responding and discussing one taught in positive condition. Communication is a big factor, it gives knowledge to an organization, and it is important for the workplace to survive. Communication is important and not only compelling to the workers but also to the patients within the workplace. Without effective communication within the workers, clinical misconception may occur and the patients’ health could be at stake. Sharing ideas and information through communication can make the team be more effective. Team can be effectively communicate with one another by motivating each other individually by acknowledging ideas, and opinion as well as giving support to each other, and co-worker. Organization may be large or small depends on the work performance of its employee to be successful. This is why communication is playing a big role in the organization. Without communication among employees as well as supervisors could lead the company be unsuccessful and fail. The basic elements to communication are to present a message to the receiver, whether it’s verbal communication, nonverbal body language, or written communication. To effectively meet the goal communication must be handed down the chain of command effectively, this that feedback must be send upward from the frontline employees back to 3 the top of the corporate ladder. Doing this will requires several basic elements of communication. In accordance communication concepts the elements of communication is you act as the sender/ receiver it is important to keep in mind that you send and receive messages while speaking to someone it also enable you to act as the transceiver this means you are sending and receiving messages. Encoding is another element of communication more especially this means an idea come to mind and, an attempt was made to send this message to the receiver so they can understand it clearly. Decoding is another communication this means the receiver who is the destination has to symbolize so that there is no confusion with the communication. Sometimes when we take messages it happen so fast we assume we understand but in most cases we don’t.
Message is another element of communication; message is a taught, feeling or opinion that has to be communicated sometimes a message can be clear and direct and other times it can be unclear (du Pre, 2005). Racism, stereotypes, and discrimination negatively affects our communication with others these are the source of hurt feelings and can result in miscommunication, damage relationship, and loss of productivity. The history of ethnic relationship in America makes it difficult to over certain struggle with discrimination since the mentality that justified slavery and force the removal or the first North Americans from their ancestral lands, for example, this situation is still present in much of this country consciousness.
Overall as population becomes more diverse it is especially to appreciate culturally diverse especially when viewing health and illness. Misunderstanding can occur when 4 people have different ideas about the nature of disease, and hoe people are suppose to act in health care situation. Cultural differences can influence communication in many ways because everyone doesn’t have the same religious beliefs. For example, Jehovah Witness doesn’t believe in receiving blood transfusions. So if the doctor is getting upset that the patient isn’t agreeing to the treatment plan there is nothing that the doctor can do or say to change the patients mind. When a professional is speaking they should be aware of the ways that cultural differences can affect other people feelings (D.Froelich, & D.Vigil, 2004). A provider might encourage a reluctant consumer to communicate candidly by being honest in regards to their health. When the consumer sees that the provider is honest about what’s going on that should cause the consumer to open up. They will feel more comfortable and at ease with the suggestions and treatment options that is given. If the consumer feel like the provider is lying there is a good chance that they won’t trust the provider In conclusion, communication is a basic requirement for everyone who lives and operate in a organize society. As a communicator the challenges are for you to employ the basic elements of communication whether it’s verbal communication nonverbal, body language, or written communication. Like any other skill, becoming proficient in communication requires practice, patience, and self-reflection. Some communication reaches this point quickly while other struggle, one thing to remember is as you reach a specific barrier to communication remember to apply and identify issues you are familiar 5 by making it personal. The basic rules are feeling, reaction, and results are almost universal.
