COMMUNICATION AUDIT REPORT

First Victoria National Bank

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

During November 2012, interviews were conducted to measure the effectiveness of communication internally throughout First Victoria National Bank by management. The interviews were designed to obtain information regarding the modes of internal communication and to identify ways to increase the effectiveness of such communication.
The Bank President and two members of the executive management team were the sources of the information provided. The majority of information was through primary data obtained from the interviews with these officers. Secondary data was found in books about effective communication.

Topics covered include: * Email * In person meetings * Teleconference * Videoconference * Face to face communication

The following findings were a result of the interviews: * Email is most frequently used to relay messages * All types of meetings have a few areas of improvement * Management is looking for ways to improve communication Bank-wide * The Bank 's intranet page is very useful * Management still prefers face to face communication to relay good or bad news

INTRODUCTION
The ability to communicate effectively is important in any business, regardless of size. When done skillfully, business communication provides clear direction for employees while improving morale throughout the organization. In most organizations, high levels of employee job satisfaction are directly related to how well senior management communicates to the rank-and-file employees.
Despite the importance of proper communication, many organizations do not take the time to properly communicate with their employees. This is not just a problem for large companies. Many small businesses and companies that are expanding rapidly must deal with
