Identify the different reasons people communicate
We communicate to express our feelings like fear,joy, courage or sorrow disappointment with gestures and words.
Communication is a tool which that can be used to express and used on others.
Communication can be used to bring out changes in people’s attitudes, motivate people and establish and maintain relationships.
Communication is needed to developing a positive relationship with children, young people and their families, colleagues and other professionals. It is a process of which two or more people exchange ideas, facts, feelings or just to express in a way that they gain a common understanding of the message.
Babies would communicate if they’re hungry, tired or uncomfortable.
To negotiate and liaise with other care professionals.
To develop learning.
Explain how effective communication affects all aspects of your work
Effective communication is a two way process – sending the right message, that is also being correctly received and understood by the other person/s.It is essential that there is good communication taking place within the work setting in order for me to develop within my roles in my childcare setting.
There must be effective communication between the manager, key workers, and myself. This will help keep a safe and happy working environment and improve the quality of work.
Effective communication skills are also needed to encourage staff to talk with child/ren about what they are feeling, to say what they think or express a need.
Positive verbal and non-verbal communication skills, such as being friendly, smiling and shaking hands when greeting parent, care giver and staff, are required on a daily basis to show that you care and are there to support the child/ren’s need.
Most early years have a parents board to show what their child/ren have done in their childcare setting this is a form of written communication
