The Rules of Football
Football is one of the most popular sports in American history and culture. Whether a person’s favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys or the Denver Broncos the rivalry of football seems to never cease. Almost everyone knows about football Sunday. But some people only see the game as a violent, unpredictable sport that can only cause harm to the boys that decide to play. Some mothers dread their child going on the field. They worry about concussions and other major injuries that can occur. They say the coaches are too harsh on the boys and the practices are too long and rough. However, these mothers do not understand what it takes to be a coach or what it takes to play football and the mental stability a player needs. These people want to change the rules of football and make it a safer …show more content…

    Football is a sport that America has grown to love, and for myself, I have become passionate about the game. I Have played football ever since I was a little kid around the age of 8 or 9, ever since then my love for the game has grown stronger and stronger. But, there are many hardships that come with the game of football. The workouts are intense and can take a toll on ones body, and coaches make you do things that are very inconvenient to build up your mental toughness and character as a football player and as a man. The issue in this paper that I am going to discuss is about myself and football, dealing with the hard 6am workouts over the course of the school year and even worse, in the summer time. It is very hard waking up for football workouts and lifts at 6 in the morning when a teenage to early twenty year old kid wants to just sleep and get some rest. Although sleep is great and we all love to sleep I sacrificed some of my sleep time to better myself, my strength, and my skill level for football. Doing all this was not easy nor did I enjoy doing it at some times. And this was my issue, the game of football I loved and it gave me many pleasures, but the offseason work also gave me many pains, aches, and was not fun all the time.
