April 20th, 1999, Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris attacked at Columbine High School killing 13 and injuring 24 innocent people. Dylan and Eric had an inspiration; they wanted to beat the number of people that Timothy Mcveigh murdered in the Oklahoma City bombing. After the Columbine massacre, other shootings and suicides were inspired by or connected to Columbine. Although it seems that the Columbine massacre would only have negative effects on the world, there are some positive effects. Many people that were touched by the massacre or were even present during the massacre have come out and spoke to people all over the world about their experiences. The Columbine tragedy will never be forgotten by not only the citizens of Columbine, but by people all over the world. This book perpetuates the legend that Eric and Dylan wanted to leave behind. “In ten years after Columbine, more than eighty shootings took place in the United States.” (Cullen 348) The Principal of Columbine High School, Mr. D, made himself available to every principal who made it through the shootings to talk. Although these calls were hard sometimes, nothing compared to an email he got from a student that was obsessed with Columbine from North Carolina. The email said, “In a few hours you will probably hear about a school shooting in North Carolina. I am responsible for it. I remember Columbine. It is time the world remembered it. I am sorry. Goodbye.” (Columbine 348) When Mr. D realized he got this email, it was too late. The student drove by his school while firing off eight shots, injured two people and killed his father. School shooting was a fear that was now expanded all throughout the world. Another school shooting that was a real eye opener was at Virginia Tech by Seung-Hui Cho. “Seung-Hui Cho killed thirty-two people, plus himself, and injured seventeen.” (Cullen 348) Cho didn’t seem to relish his massacre like Eric and Dylan did, he had psychosis and didn’t even seem
