College success is defined as an achievement accomplished by a person to secure their future. Many factors lead to success in college, and identifying these positive influence is important to serve as a guide for parents who desire a college education for their children and for college students who want to achieve their educational goals. There are different of opinion in ranking these factors or influences in order of importance. There are some who believe going to college is an opportunity for a better future. Then there are others who think there is no value to going to a college. However, there are three factors that are the most likely to lead to college success such as, parental encouragement, valuing a college education and studying a great deal of time.

Time is a big factor to a college student, and the dedicated effort by a student to recognize that the quality of study time is more important than the clock hours will go a long way in producing a positive outcome in grades and personal satisfaction. Putting a scheduled time towards studying will have a big difference on the grades that a student will receive in class. For example, there is a test coming up and the student only has two days to study, so that person must make a deliberate choice to spend time studying or going out with friends, and the grade will reflect the effort. Moreover, spending the time and effort on studying can have a positive emotional effect. People enjoy rewards for hard work and the resulting high grades show the students that effort is truly worth the long hours of reading and
