“Stop thinking about what everyone wants .stop thinking about what I want .stop thinking about what your parents want. What do you want?” – The notebook

Growing up I have acquired many things. I have been told what’s the right things to major in and what the kind of music I should like, I’ve been told not to dream so big because “you’re just getting your hopes high “I have been given a blueprint to how my life should be lived .a lot of times I feel that in order for a person to know who they are they have to be able to live there life for themselves to know who they are and what they want. If not you grow up confused and constructed and you end up living someone else dream. This has become one of the hardest life lessons that I have had to learn which was how to live to make things happen for yourself and to make yourself happy. This is why I’ve chosen this quote it relates to me in every way.
Being able to grow up and know who you are in life is very important .growing up I realized that I lost who I was at times id want to be one thing and within that Same year my perspective about myself would change .a lot of people might beg to differ in saying that its good to not know who you are because it forces you to find out who you were meant to be. However for me not knowing who I was became an excuse for me I slacked off a lot and didn't pay attention to a lot of opportunity’s because I was always unsure of if It was "right" for me .
People would always ask me growing up what is it that you want to be when you grow up and at the age of five every girl wanted to be a princess or mermaid and that was ok because we were young and didn't know of the many options we would grow to have. However I wanted to be a teacher

While my teachers instilled the fundamental aspects of a well-rounded education, I learned through my own experience that education extends beyond the classroom. My activities in academics, athletics, community service and work experience, have instilled qualities in me that will prepare me for the immediate future of college and beyond.…

Everyone carries the stories of their lives wrapped around their shoulders. Some people carry feather-light stories; other people’s stories, heavy as bricks threaten to break their spirit as they carry its burden. In my opinion, the best stories – fiction or not − begin with the famous and treasured words of “Once upon a time.” So allow me to share with you my tale of a hellion land, filled to the brim with vagabonds in every corner, and survival of the fittest.…

Ralph Waldo Emerson once stated, “To be yourself in a world that is trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” This quote means that being yourself can be hard at times. However, if you are yourself then things might go your way more often. The more things that go your way will make you a happier person. Emerson’s statement is true because you would have nothing different to do, the reward and punishment would be given only to you, and you just have to put yourself before others at times.…

My first couple weeks at The University of Alabama have certainly been a unique experience. I threw myself into the Southern culture by deciding to rush a sorority. In Connecticut, sororities are a fun activity that a few people join, and rush is a two, maybe three day process. Here, rush and sororities are a whole different ballgame. Door songs are easily the scariest thing on the planet. Recently a video of a door song from a different college went viral with captions comparing them to horror movies, and I know that it’s just a joke but I can see where they are coming from. Having hundreds of girls scream at you while you have to just stand there and smile is quite terrifying.…

Many if not all people change at one point or another during the course of their life. Majority of this change occurs during the high school years and even more specifically, freshman year. Many people associate the term “freshman” with being naive and asinine. However, in actuality during this period we as young adults are just attempting to find ourselves. “So much is still to be learned! So long a road lies before us, and what care we must take if we must travel it alone”(Rand 54). The development of a teen going through their high school years can be broken up into 3 stages; the beginning, the middle, and the end of the freshmen year.…

As I started senior year, I had high hopes of defeating my two headed personal dragon, procrastination and disorganization. I had well thought out plans on how to annihilate this nefarious beast, however, I forgot to factor in a huge part of senior year- senioritis. Senioritis has not only made it impossible to defeat my dragon, it has made it preposterous to even care. Frankly, I am not disappointed in myself. Although triumphing over my dragons would have been astonishing, I am completely satisfied with the amount of work I have been able to accomplish, not only during senior year but throughout all of highschool.…
