College Application Essay
Option #4: Describe a place or environment where you are perfectly content. What do you do or experience there, and why is it meaningful to you?

************************* A place where I am perfectly content is on stage. Dancing, that is. On stage with the bright lights shining; and the spotlight shining on you. There is a rush of nerves and adrenaline that overcomes you before you go out. It is very nerve-wrecking, but the outcome is extraordinary. The feeling that you get after you spend so much time, perfecting every little detail in your dance, because at that point, your only goal seems to be is placing first place, but after you get out there and dance your heart and soul out and you put so much emotion into just one three-minute song; the only goal is that you felt good about the performance. As soon as you take your first step out on the stage, and you see everyone focusing their undivided attention on you, and you get in your 'ready position', the music starts and it's all on you. This may seem scary and unwelcoming to people, and trust me, my first couple competitions I did not want to go out there. Eventually I got over my nervousness and I was perfectly fine! With being on stage, performing so much in front of so many people, it has helped my conquer my fear of public speaking. It has helped me speak my mind and not being afraid of what people think of me. I have learned that there will be certainly people who will critique you and judge you. Like at a competition, some people will slur rude comments or even the judges will tell you a small detail that you messed up on. You have to keep a strong head when dealing with this. In life, no one will know what you want if you don't say so. It's that simple. At the end of the day, you can't count on other people to make your life for you, for example in a dance, say there's eight other girls in the dance and you're depending on your friend or partner and what if they mess up? Or what if their

The place I feel content at is Ruth lake this is because it is fun when it is warm and when you have a boat because you get to go tubing. Sometimes you might see your friends there and get to do things with them. There is also deer season in the fall and that means I get to go camping. You can also go onto the mountains and have a view of the shining water of the lake.…

As I walked closer to the entrance, my heart began pounding harder and harder. I could feel the sweat in my hands, as the time closer. Walking into the first room, I was grabbing my dad’s hand. I could feel my hands sweating almost like Niagara Falls. I tried to keep my eyes closed, but it would just make it worst. I slowly began to open them, and the creepy actors were everywhere. They yelled, and ran, all over the place. My fear just got worst.…

The first item I find attractive at Wellesley College is the center of work and service, a place full of opportunities and possibilities. I like putting effort on community service and have volunteered in local charity for three years. Every summer vacations, I go to the old people's home and play the guitar for them. When I saw their enjoyments during my performance, I could taste the sweetness of helping others. Their smiles inspired my devotion in the community, which I hope to keep doing in my college. If I could be admitted, I would like to participate in the Wellesley Habitat for Humanity and the Chinatown Afterschool Program because of my manipulative skills and my advantage on multi languages. Additionally, I believe the work experience…

My special place is the country in Bristow, Oklahoma. When I am in the country I hear the goats “baa-ing”, the stomping of their feet hitting the grass, the pigs snorting, rolling around in the mud, and the dog barking. I see my two children running around messing with the dog and running away from the daddy goat. My dad and grandpa are drinking beer and messing with a car or staring at each other. The baby goats are following their mother around everywhere. There is nothing but green grass and a bunch of energy from the animals. I smell goat poop, the pig’s nasty, natural smell they have and the fresh, beautiful, dirt road air all at the same time. I see green grass, a bunch of big, green trees, and pretty flowers bloomed. I walk behind the…

People are always reading about what others did or what they are going to do. What if you had the chance to write about your accomplishments or even your life? Most would love to live the life of the American dream, being wealthy. However, I personally do not want to live that American dream, I rather create my own dream. Do not get me wrong, I have the goals, the grades, the leadership and even a career plan.…

My most prized possession is my mental stability and ethical background that I have acquired from my southern upbringing. Growing up in a rural community in the south and being reared by elderly parents allowed my seeds of character and respect to be nurtured by an entire village of people who saw my potential and wanted to see me succeed and thus pushed and prayed for my wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. As a child, series of unique experiences of being able to develop intimate and loving relationships with almost everyone in my community made me appreciate the influence of everyone on my life. It was not long before I realized that no matter how old or young, rich or poor, or educated a person was, everyone contributed to humanity’s niche…

Growing up I always heard from my parents and my teachers “do the best you can”. At the time I thought that I was doing the best I could do. I would hear that phrase day after day no matter what I did. I never minded hearing it, it was nice to heat actually. I had always earned A’s throughout elementary and middle school and all of my teachers in the private school I attended seemed to be pleased with the work that I produced. I always worked hard, and in return my teachers rewarded me with praise. I thought that I was an excellent student.…

I feel that in life it is important to feel comfortable in the world, to feel freedom and happiness in nice places. For example in “ The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton the main character expresses that life in the country would be far superior to that of the city. So ask yourself the same question, where do you think you would be the most happy? Personally I feel comfortable by a lake in a small cabin where you are free to explore and enjoy the fresh air. In conclusion I think that you should go and find a place in the world that is right for you. To travel to in order to find peace.…

The beach and ocean are extremely relaxing places for me. Any beach will do the trick... but no matter where I am I will always be reminded of my nights spent at the beach in North Carolina. That vacation has become a part of who I am. Every summer we make the ten hour drive and every single minute spent in that car is worth that week at the beach. The week is spent with friends and family sharing laughter and fun. Sailing on my Uncle's boat, Never Say Never, is definitely a highlight... (especially when he lets me drive it). The days are relaxing, care-free and fun, while the nights spent on the top deck of the house looking out at the stars over the beach is one of the most peaceful things I have ever witnessed.…
