College Admissions Essay: The Scientific Field
The scientific field is like a cancer tumour; it never stops growing or dividing. The scientific field comprises of various different aspects, DIVIDING into its 3 main groups; Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Within those groups it GROWS into little sub-topics such as human physiology, organic chemistry or particle physics. And within those groups, it SPREADS into each of the other groups such as particle physics, biochemistry and biophysics. We are living in an era where there are innovative inventions are being created within the scientific field further human understanding of science. One inventions includes Vetigel which can stop bleeding within seconds as it is made from particles which are bonded closely together forming a mesh like substance.
My passion for biology was established when I completed an assignment on the digestive system whilst studying in Singapore. This small event was the beginning of my passion for science. From this I was able to gain …show more content…
Because of this my passion to help communities have only strengthened. Also participating in Debate Chamber’s Junior Doctor summer school and Medicine Summer School allowed to me to understand surgical skills such as suturing whilst developing my knowledge of medical topics, including paediatrics and oncology. Also working with people of various ages ranging from 80 years old (volunteering at an elderly home) who suffered from a stroke damaging the broca area and cerebellum part of the brain to 12 year year (volunteering at a local primary school teaching years 7s geography) olds who displayed various characteristics and 3 year olds (volunteering at my local primary school) who displayed characteristics of hyperactivity has enabled me to have a deeper understanding of the different types of people in different
