College Admissions Essay: Past, Present, And Future
At my simplest, I am an opportunist. I am captivated by every opportunity for improvement that I see in myself every single day. Recognizing and seizing these moments has become my passion. As I've traveled through my life I've become more excited by the person I've discovered in myself and the person I see in the future.

I strive for efficiency in my daily life through organization and tireless execution of my full-time job, full-time class load, and personal hobbies. My classes at Texas Woman’s University have taken my top priority. I have found so much interest in the classes that I’ve taken, particularly in accounting and marketing. My schooling is just one manifestation of this drive for personal development and success.I have established myself as a top producer in Staple Stock Receiving at Walmart Distribution Center 6068. I am a novice yogi. I meditate daily. I use my hands to create in numerous ways. From knitting and crochet to zentangle and painting to carpentry, I’m always on the lookout for something new to make. I train and play with my insatiable, energetic dog; yes, I count that as a hobby. Most recently, I have just begun a running routine in preparation for a Tough Mudder obstacle course. Through all of these activities I have sought to improve myself and make for a more enjoyable experience in my own life.

I’m not suggesting they’re the best invention in a practical way, I think sliced bread or indoor plumbing took that spot. Board games are an invaluable tool for social interaction, developing critical thinking skills, and encouraging team bonding. A healthy dose of competition really goes a long way. Today, I am a graduate of CUNY Baruch College with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Operations Management. Although undeniably rewarding, the road to graduation was, to say the least, strenuous. When I began the pursuit of an undergraduate degree, I was determined on becoming an accountant. However, instead of solidifying my interest in this major, the demanding curriculum along with being employed full time took a toll on my GPA. As a result, I came to the realization that…

I had a really terrible memory when I was young, which was about a car accident. In the summer of 1995, I was 7 years old at that time,I was playing with my friends in the garden which was near my house. Suddenly, a friend of mine started fighting with a big guy. I didn’t know what happen, I was too young and so scared, the only thing I thought was to find his parents to go for help. So a girl and I decided to run to his home. The little girl was in front of me when we were crossing the road, and we didn’t realize a car was coming. My life started out like the beginning of a perfect childhood. Both of my parents had steady, well-paying government jobs, we had moved into a new home and even bought a puppy. All was harmonious, until my parents decided we would have a better life in Canada. Leaving behind everything and everyone we knew was probably one of the hardest things my parents ever did for my brother and me. Struggling to fit in and assimilate was least of our problems, trying to make a decent income became a priority. My parents, who were well educated and accomplished, were compelled to settle for multiple meager jobs like a cashier at a fast food restaurant or a security guard at an apartment building. They held as many jobs as they could, working…

Is college worth it? Well, in my opinion, college for me is not even a goal, but a dream in my eyes. The advantages of a college degree in the job market today are pretty much priceless. I can go to college and look forward to the endless possibilities of my future. According to Lucie Lapovsky an economist for strategic financial issues, over 62% of high school graduates can’t afford college. Even though college could be expensive, I think happiness overcomes price. After graduating, I can focus on a certain direction and change career paths when needed. A college degree can also get me educated and prepared for the career path I will choose in the future. Even though my family isn’t rich, I can afford college by applying for financial aid…

Coming into your freshmen year of college can be really hard. Eating wise most of the food on campus and around campus will be unhealthy. A healthy lifestyle is putting the right food and liquids in your body, getting the proper sleep at night so your body can function, and also having a workout schedule. To keep a heathy lifestyle in college you have to stop eating fast foods and foods such as noodles, chips and a lot of junk food. I believe also having a consistent workout schedule to keep your body in shape, maybe run on the treadmill for 30-45 mins or even 250 sit ups and push-ups every night.…

Elementary started my passion through the teachers making the class journal about their lives. These journals helped me to learn to write down my thoughts and keep track of them in chronological order. Writing continues to be a vital part of my education that I enjoy.…

College is an open door to many opportunities especially for someone like me who comes from a conservative culture in which most believe the working field is not for women. Times have changed and yet an employed woman is looked down upon. Many girls dream about having a bright future only to see it shatter once they become older and their opportunities are seized. I want to be able to beat the odds and go against the old-fashioned beliefs of my culture. To do so I need to achieve a higher education. I am planning on attending a community college to receive my two years of general education and then graduate to a university to major in physical therapy. I have excelled in high school, will continue to do so in college, and be able to graduate from college.…

Some people choose to be weak, but I was a little boy with a dream to be strong. Sometimes the things that make us strong aren’t what we choose, and other times they are. It is said that hard times make people stronger and here are three important areas of my life that gave me my dream of strength: I was abused in my adolescent years, I joined the military as a young adult making six trips to combat zones, and with combat related disabilities I went to college in pursuit of a medical degree.…
