College Admissions Essay: My Second Opportunity
My Second Opportunity My decision had to be made up because I did not know if I could graduate from Campus High School and I knew I did not have enough credits to become a senior at Campus. I hated going to school because I was not a fan of the teaching staff or either the students. They were not as bad because I honestly remember them always pushing me to do my best and I still think about a few of them and I am not proud of dropping out because I know I let some of those teachers down. My only problem with school was just waking up early never made me feel good, I would always feel sick, and so I never went and then I just stopped going altogether. I was just very lazy and lacked confidence. At that point, I knew I could not go back to Campus and I knew my chances of graduating were slipping from slim to not graduating at all. My parents did not know what I was going to do or even what they were going to do with me. I was considering just going after my G.E.D., so I talked to my oldest sister Amanda because she had taken it and right when I asked she said, “I might have the book somewhere around here”. Five minutes later, she walked up to me and handed me the book and it was so big that it actually terrified me because I knew I had to read that whole

I would have just been a drop-out working at some fast food place because nowadays it is very hard to get god jobs without a High School Diploma. Instead, I have the option to go to college and further my education for a certain field of work. I can now also make more money and have a better chance of being successful. Of course, people have become successful without a diploma, but I did not want to risk it. I can now tell my future family about how I graduated and encourage them to not give up and to be better than me and stay in school with all of their
