College Admissions Essay: My Life Changing Experiences
Children are going to rule the world. That seems dramatic, but it’s true. Today’s youth will one day become world leaders, teachers, and role models.With guidance from the current generation in charge, we will gain the skills needed to not only manage the world, but to enhance it. A scholarship will help enhance my leadership skills, critical thinking ability, along with working together with others and creativity because the monetary benefit would allow me to properly focus on the challenges and experiences before me without the heavy financial burden. This would allow a world of opportunity to opened before me.
College is supposed to be a time where an individual learns and truly discovers themselves. I live in a fairly large family, a total of nine of us. Out of seven kids, I’m the fourth, directly in the middle, making it a challenge to truly express my individuality sometimes. Thanks to supportive teachers and role models, along with my extracurriculars, I have been able to express myself and grow. I’m not done, though. Change. Change. It is inevitable and something that isn’t always comfortable. In fact, many of us agree that change can be terrifying. As those in my generation and I start becoming independent, we have to learn how to quickly adjust and adapt to change. Experience will aid our growth but there are obstacles that will attempt to inhibit this growth, finances being a large one. College is going to be worth every cent but obtaining scholarships greatly enhance the experience. Managing a job and attending class is a heavy load. Shouldering the burden could potentially cause unnecessary pressure that could inhibit the experience. It can be done, but exploring new organizations, people, and maintaining academics could become very difficult to do if a person’s only concern is making sure they can handle their finances.
