Collaborative Leadership Case Study
A common collaborative leadership style is one that promotes and develops organizations. The collaboration of leadership defines employees in different levels of the organization identifying problems, analyzing situations, and achieving solutions. Employees achieve solutions by assisting their leaders and organization in solving problems collectively (Abdolhamid, 2016). School leadership often collaborates with their faculty and staff creating a cohesive relationship required to assist in educating students. On occasions, the leadership of K-12 school’s battles with external and internal challenges within their schools? (2007), research further proved that families in high socioeconomic status or affluent neighborhoods showed consistency, demonstrating positive associations with students’ readiness and achievement outcomes. Neighborhood effects accounted for 5% - 10% of the change in students’ educational outcomes. Growing public concern aroused, focusing on low-income children’s education as studies continue to show that minority children were more likely to meet poverty than that of nonminority children within the schools and neighborhoods.
Evaluation of Collaborative Leader Collaboration can serve as a form of agency in the face of imposed challenge. Leadership should be able to push forward when collaborating with faculty and staff, as well as students and parents of the community. According to Abdolhamid (2016), a common collaborative leadership style is one that promotes and develops organizations. The collaborative leader promotes team work and cooperative leadership. In the face of the challenge mentioned above, the collaborative leader should be empathetic to the socio-economic status of that student as well as the community in which he/she lives.

    This paper includes a reference list of literature relating to the impact socioeconomic status and race/ethnicity has on academic achievement and what can be done to combat the achievement gap. In general, the literature seems to indicate that socioeconomic status has a greater impact then race or ethnicity on achievement. However, these constructs are often intertwined.
