Clinical Attachment Essay
During my clinical attachment, I will be posted to polyclinic, community hospital or restructured hospital. I will learned something different that I learned in school as I will explore to new culture and environment and meet different healthcare workers such as doctors or pharmacist and they will be my future colleagues or superior. I think clinical attachment is important for a nursing student because clinical attachment can prepare us as a student nurse to acquire practical skills when facing real situation happens in hospital or others healthcare institutions and not only practice in the school lab. As student nurse, I can assimilate in my future workplace so I will familiar my workplace as soon as possible. During clinical attachment, I also had to know the hospital protocol well, it is very important for nursing students because know do and don’t well will helps us not making major mistake during our attachment. When I posted to Jurong community hospital, I may meet some patient who needs long-term care such as patient who receive physiotherapy on his/her damaged body part and patient that not ready to go back to their normal life. As a student nurse, we should be responsible, honesty and respectful to other people either healthcare worker or patient. We should be responsible on what we doing because we are touching patient lives and be focus when we working. We also should protect our patient privacy by not leaking their personal information to public or social media such as Facebook and this is an offence so we should not cross the line on it. I should also practice my skills that I learned well so I will not be panic when I performing the skills to the patients. I also have to make my mind alert and remain calm when I handle any situation with handing patients and asked help to my clinical instructor if I met any
