EN1150 - Composition I

In the past several years, it has become clear that many people who exercise has been known to be beneficial and critical in maintaining optimal health. Studies have shown that in form of exercise can prevent diseases and death. What exercise would this be called? Based on studies this form of exercise is called cardiovascular exercise. Cardiovascular exercise is one of the most effective exercise that involves movement that gets your heart rate up to improve oxygen consumption by the body (http://www.acefitness.org/acefit/fitness-fact/1/cardiovascular-exercise/). There are several types of cardiovascular exercises such as, running, jogging, and swimming.

Running or jogging has proven to be one of the best forms of cardiovascular exercise. These two exercises is most helpful when it comes to burning calories, weight loss, and it also it also uses several different muscles so the body is exerting a lot of effort which raises the heart rate. Study has shown that running provides great benefits to the body, but running also have disadvantages. One of the disadvantages of running is that there is a constant striking motion as your feet hit the pavement or the treadmill belt so that results in quite a bit of wear and tear on the joints. Since, this would be a disadvantage of running, there have been complaints of arthritic pain or joint deterioration can be due to excessive running. Even from the study that running and jogging has it downfalls, it is still consider the best forms of cardiovascular exercise.
