Class Pres.
As the class of 2017 we are the start of a new tree or a generation. We are the leaves of the tree. The trunk is our foundation who are our teachers or parents. And the branches of our new tree is the impact we have on society. Even though we are just one class in a billion of 2017 classes we can make a difference. We can become those leaders. We can make the next year of homecoming one no one will ever forget. We can set a new tradition for our school. A leader is a problem solver, not a finger pointer. A leader inspires others to do their best, not teach them the wrong and a leader does not tell people how to do something but simply shows them how they have done it. All of these qualities falls under leadership. The definition of leadership is “a process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task” now you can’t tell me Rebecca Rowland does not have those qualities. I bet she has helped every single one of us in here in some way or another. She is the person we need as our leader, as our class president. She is the person who, out of all of us, deserves to be the president the most. Academically she is outstanding! Socially she is the bomb! She gets along great with almost every one she meets. Rebecca L. Rowland should be, and needs to be your new 2013-2014 class

Throughout my high school years, I maintained various leadership roles. The first of which was serving as a section leader in the marching band for three years. As a section leader, I was the example of how the section should act, present, and conduct them. I was also the captain of the golf and tennis teams, first leading by examples through my actions and then through my playing skills. At my home church, I am the Youth Director providing an example of how to live as a young Christian despite the temptation of peer pressure. While here at JMU, I am currently serving as a mentor at the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County Boys and Girls Club to disadvantaged to youth. Just furthering my education beyond high school is the primary and first example of leadership. The kids at the club can look to me and see that I was once just like them but I’ve pushed through and maybe they can…

Not everyone has it in them to be a great leader. Most people do, but do not accept the challenge. Some people may also believe that they are leaders but are not truly fit or put the position to lead in a way that would be aspiring to others. According to Mrs. Stephanie Fontenot, leadership is one of the most important aspects in the classroom and on the basketball court. As soon as she was asked the question,…

At the most rudimentary level, a leader is someone who leads other. But what makes someone a leader? What is it about being a leader that some people understand and use to their advantage? What can you do to be a leader? A leader is a person who has a vision, a drive and a commitment to achieve that vision, and the skills to make it happen. These leadership traits are broken down further into seven beneficial habits in Sean Covey’s book “The 7 Habits of highly Effective Teens” and the fundamental base of leadership found in the 40 developmental assets. The main things that made Douglas a highly effective leader are family support, caring, integrity, school engagement, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win-win and synergize.…

A leader is someone who inspires people, who can be clutch as a forerunner to get started on a way of thinking; or sometimes a leader is the fearless one who steps in a place no one has dared to and when they do, they do so without remorse. A leader doesn’t look back at what has passed, but instead looks ahead at what’s to come. A leader is honest, caring and has integrity. A leader confronts challenges and does not let the voice of haters or malicious people bring them down. A great leader, not just a leader can do all of these things and when they are pushed down they can get back up and keep going like no one has touched them. A leader, who fits this description in my eyes, is Sarah Palin.…

As a child growing up, I've always aspired to reach every goal that I had, and speak my mind when I have something that is needed to be said. Within the past two to three years I have learned to grow out of my shell and speak up with love, against hatred. But I've come to realize that leaders that we have in our country are a concern to me and to many other children who are growing up in the United States. Under the current administration, I have began to learn what its like to be a leader and what to do and what not to do. President Trump and his administration, more specifically Betsy DeVos, have concerned many students and parents around the country. DeVos, her ideas for Education reform, and her (and Trump's) lack of leadership among our country have become a concern for many teens and young adults in America.…

I believe that school leadership needs to be representative of all the demographic groups, not just the…

"A leader is one who influences others to attain goals. Leaders orchestrate change, set direction, and motivate people to overcome and move the organization toward its ideal future" (Bateman & Snell, 2004, p30). An effective leader will delegate tasks to other individuals and trust him or her to carry out the assigned task to completion. In the Spokane Public School, the principal in each school holds the role of leader. The job is for the administrator to understand the process of education and the state and federal regulations that mandate education. The administrator is then able to communicate effectively to all instructional staff the curriculum that needs to be implemented in each classroom.…

Everyone aspires to be a leader. No one wants to be the quiet person in the room that sits back, while looking for the guidance of others. The desire to be a leader troubled me greatly in the past, because I wanted to be the one that innovated new ideas. I knew I was a quiet kid, but all of my worst fears were solidified when I learned of my first grade teachers thoughts of me which were “ a follower, not a leader”. I tried to brush it off, and disguise my true feelings, but that is not the way I wanted others to perceive me as in any way. Although it is difficult to replace these preconcieved notions, I have consistently worked to show others what I’m made of. All I needed was the opportunity to prove others that they were wrong. Especially since I like to think that it is the quiet ones we need to look out for.…
