Clarkson argument

Long Live the Tiger!
Upon reading Jeremy Clarkson’s article, ‘Stuff the Tiger’, I discovered that I strongly disagree with his point of view and the way he writes them, a good example of this is when Clarkson uses inappropriate sarcasm to belittle the sensitive issue. I begin to realize that he thinks any publicity is good publicity as has a passion for pontificating on subjects that he knows absolutely nothing about.
He begins to patronize the tigers by trying to be humorous. He first uses this with the title, where he uses an innuendo.
Clarkson claims that 600 million people in China use animal bones and penises in medicine, however, this is a false survey. I personally find it quite difficult that you have questioned more than half of
China’s population. Furthermore, there are other alternatives to use for medicine. Surely there are more civil, modern day in age ingredients than the use of tiger parts, for example alkali bases and plants.
Irrelevant to this, the extinction of a tiger is as irrelevant as a faraway star but be fore you express your own opinion, please look at the facts. If we just distinguish the iconic tiger, it could make a gigantic impact on the food chain and we are looking at an overpopulation of buffalo, deer and even more!
You state ‘Well, not complete extinction. Obviously tigers will continue to exist in Las Vegas for many years to come.’ I personally think that tigers should live in their natural habitat, the environment they are adapted to. The only reason tigers aggressive are because poachers cease to kill them and they need to protect themselves and their cubs. What would you do if a mass murderer attempted to kill you and your children?
Tigers use to roam across Asia, but now they’re restricted to just 7% of their range, in isolated forests across 13 countries. So why keep them in captivity, when they could be living while they’re still not extinct? It is a disgrace that they are in a cage getting glared at. How would

Stuart Pimm offers a degree in Conservation Ecology from Duke University. His Argument focuses largely on humans are not ready for De-Extinction in that since humans were the ones that pushed them to disappear, they are not going to want those species back. He gives the example that “hunters at [the Pyrenean ibex] to extinction. Reintroduce a resurrected ibex to the area where it belongs and it will become the most expensive cabrito every eaten.” He notes that the problem is whether we can resurrect these species or not, but more along the lines of whether the rest of the population will accept the animals back in their original homes. He also believes that De-Extinction “seduces” those granting research money and support into thinking they are doing well when it simply gives “unscrupulous developers a veil to hide their rapaciousness, with promises to fix things later.”…

As of today there are fewer than 3,000 wild tigers and projections show the species being extinct within the next 20 years if something is not done to stop them from becoming hunted (Why Save The Tiger). The main cause for the depletion of the tiger is due to the illegal poaching of the animals for their skins and bones. One other big reason for the tiger to become endangered is the fact that there habitat is being destroyed more and more everyday. The tiger is very important to the ecosystem they live in because they keep the population of herbivores from overpopulation, which allows for many other species to…

To fully understand how the tiger effects it`s ecosystem you must fully know the status of this animal as of right now. Less than one hundred years ago tigers roomed most of Asia. They could be found from the forests of eastern Turkey and the Caspian region of Western Asia, all the way to the Indian sub-continent, China, and Indochina, south to Indonesia, and north to the Korean Peninsula and the Russian Far East(4). Unfortunately now tigers are found in only thirteen range states which is only 7% of their original land. These states consist of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia (Sumatra), Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Russia, Thailand, and Vietnam(1). From this land loss we have lost nearly 97% of our wild tiger population. There are as few as 3,200 tigers remaining(4).…

In addition to all natural resources on this planet fading away, there is an ever growing apprehension with the number of species of wildlife and the respective habitats of each. All over the world, nature preservation parks have been constructed just so a small group of people can be accountable to enforce certain guidelines for that preserve which support and ensure safety of life within that area. With more and more natural resources required to maintain our “natural” function of life, it is inevitable that the natural resources will run out sometime. It is only a question of when.…

I have recently read your article ‘Stuff the Tiger – long live extinction’ and disagree strongly with the views you put forward. Your arguments are unjustified and the examples you use to demonstrate are faulty and contradicting to each other . In this article, you have mentioned how extinction doesn’t have any impact on mankind. Also, your opinions were based upon natural extinction and Darwin’s theory of the survival of the fittest instead of human intervention. I would like to address what I believe to be the main problems with these arguments in a way that would help enhance the understanding of the motivation and purpose of conservation work.…
