COSHH stands to the Control of Substance Hazardous to Health.
The risks to individuals involve direct contact with a hazardous substance which could cause disease, skin
Irritation or burning, these symptoms Could also occur through inhalation.
There are also more generic risks that Can occur through contamination, this could be by a product directly or as part of a by-product of the original substance like waste.

3. Name the mandatory PPE to be worn whilst carrying out any construction operations.
Basic PPE would take the form of Safety boots, hard hat and high viz.
Depending on the job trade and environment more specialized items might be required eg. Safety
Spectacles or goggles, earplugs or defenders, mask or respiratory system, gloves. etc.

4. What does PUWER stand for and name some of equipment it covers.
PUWER Stands for Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
This is wide ranging and covers any machinery, appliance, apparatus or tool, mechanical or electrical, that is provided in a

non-domestic environment.
