Cima And Her Father Had To Stick Together Essay
Cima and her father are isolated from the rest of the world. They do not have contact with other humans and forgot what it was like to talk with other people. When someone does not have contact with other people outside their home, it can change them into a very different person. Cima and her father got along fairly well in their little house, despite all they had been through since their world changed. The circumstances that they had to prevail only brought them closer to one another and they both knew that they had to stick together at all costs. Hig and Bangley knew they had to stick together too but because their personalities were so different, they often did not, which led to many disagreements between them. Hig had been hunting since before the epidemic struck the country but he did not like to kill anything if he didn’t absolutely have to. While flying his beloved airplane, Hig came across Cima and her dad’s home. Anybody who hadn’t been around people for that long, would be curious to find out who lived there. Hig had also not seen a woman in so long that the thought intrigued him even more. But Cima and her father did not welcome strangers and so they attempted to kill Hig out of fright that he wanted to harm them. The views between Hig and Bangley vs Cima and her father parallel in this point of the book and are similar in that they would both kill intruders that seemed dangerous. Although one cannot blame either because of the circumstance that they are in. Both characters are defensive because they do not want someone to attack them so they know they have to act fast and think quickly.
