HISTORY OF WEST BAATSONAA PRESBY CHURCH, NUNGUA
The west Baatsonaa Congregat6ion was started as part of the Centenary Celebration of the Zimmermenn Memorial Presby Congregation, Nungua, in 2002. This was at the time when new demarcations in the Presbytery were taking effect and Congregations like Santeo, Oyibi, Katamanso, Lashibi, East Baatsonaa, etc; had been ceded to other Districts.
The then local Mission & Evangelism Committee, as part of the Centenary Celebration had a two day crusade at Brother Sam, Baatsonaa, from 9th to 10th August, 2002. Rev. Samuel Nana Agyeman (second District Minister, then in charge of Calvary Presby Church) was the speaker. The theme was “Behold I come quickly”.
House-to House follow-up continued immediately on Sundays from 9:00am to 10:00am. Two services were held at Bro. Sam School after earlier consultations with the Proprietor to start the Congregation in the School; however the presence of other churches also worshiping in the same School posed threats of us stealing flock.
Rev. Samuel Nana Agyeman, therefore approached Mad. Grace Opoku-Addo, then a Presbyter at Calvary Presby Church, Boade Nungua, for a classroom in her school (Grace Academy, behind Danpong Pharmacy, Spintex Road, Baatsonaa) for Sunday services. After consultations and discussions at the residence of Mad. Grace Opoku-Addo, in the presence of her daughter Ms. Jemima Yirenkyi-Akunnor, the delegation sent by Rev. Isaac Tetteh Sackey was assured of a classroom. There was no cost to be borne by the Church for using the school’s classroom for Sunday services; however they were tasked to take the very best care of the place.
On 12th September, 2002 the exact classroom for the Sunday service was shown to the delegation ;( Mr. Emmanuel Bortei-Abraham, then a Senior Presbyter of Zimmermann Memorial Presby Congregation; Mr. Emmanuel Agyei Larbi, former Senior Presbyter of Calvary Presby Congregation & District Driver;

I was raised Catholic and I went to a Catholic school from second grade to eighth grade so, I had background knowledge on the teaching of the church. I have taken field notes and came across some reoccurring tendencies. All of these reoccurring tendencies support my thesis, which is: one of the many values the Catholic Church holds importance to is having much respect for their God. Throughout this essay I will explain my findings and the correlation between them and my assumption that this particular church holds being respect to a high regard.…

    God is the Divine Author of a set of books, songs, narratives and letters that were written as a way for man to draw nearer to Him through His loving Son Jesus the Christ. God’s Word is an expression of who God is and who His Son is. J. Scott Duvall and J. Daniel Hays wrote a book called Grasping God’s Word. Within this book, the authors inspire their readers by giving a detailed reason why we study the Bible. They say, “The reason we study the Bible is that we want to hear God’s Word to us.” They go on to say, “The Bible was written by numerous human authors, but the divine aspect of it is inseparably and mysteriously interwoven into every verse. The term we use to describe this relationship between the divine role and the human role is inspiration. Inspiration can be defined as the process in which God directed individuals, incorporating their abilities and styles, to produce His message to humankind.”[1] Our Bible is an inspired canon of the 39 received books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament. The combined 66 books of the Old and New Testament form the orthodox belief which was founded upon the inspired moving of God among man and creation. What were the events and movements that were influential in the recognition of the canonical books? Furthermore, what methodology was used by the applicable individuals and councils that deemed these 66 books the inspired Word of God?…

    The church was running about 120 people and was struggling. The church had just experienced a split. So Pastor set out to heal some wounds and help the church grow. He started soul winning classes, began preaching on why we use the King James Bible, and focused on money management. The church had accumulated over half a million dollars in debt, thanks to God’s goodness and Pastor Metsinger’s leadership, this debt was retired a little over a year after he got there. Pastor got back to the basics by teaching on Baptist distinctives, KJV truth, and basic discipleship. This helped remove some of the compromising culture that had set in before his arrival at South…

    On February 28, 2010, I went on a fieldtrip to a Methodist church called Muir’s Chapel United Methodist Church (UMC). The church was founded in 1822 when Jeremiah Dodson, a local preacher from the west, held services under brush arbors and the shade of oak trees on the grounds. The church grounds were located behind where the current building is located at 314 Muir's Chapel Road Greensboro, NC 27410. After his services and charge began, the charge was organized and passed on to the Reverend Thacker Muir. Reverend Muir cut the first log for the first structure known as the “Log Meeting House.” In Reverend Muir’s honor the name was changed to Muir’s Chapel.…

    I was raised being at church at least three or four days out of the week. My family has always played a major role in our church and for me, church has never been an option. Participating and being a part of the Sunday service, fellowship functions, and even anything service related always took priority over everything else in my life. A typical Sunday morning service at Calvary Bible Church starts with a more traditional style of worship. There will usually be a mixture of hymns and modern songs being sung with a piano, guitar, vocalists, and a small drum set included. Worship at Calvary can at times seem very conservative compared to other services. After worship there is a formal scripture reading and announcements. Kids are then dismissed for a children’s church and the pastor preaches his message. The messages are usually based off of a specific scripture in the Bible and very focused on what the text means and is saying. The service is concluded with another song and then a benediction from the…

    The speaker is Steve Scoggins who is the preacher at First Baptist Church of Opelika. The setting was in a big white church with several members. We were greeted with big smiles and the church bulletin. My family and I sat in the balcony like most Sunday mornings. We sang hymns and songs and prayed the Lord’s Prayer before we heard the message. It was an early father’s day morning. The weather was beautiful with a few clouds insight. Pastor Steve spoke for about thirty minutes. The audience was full of people of all ages. It was filled with families that love the Lord. The audience was very attentive and responsive. The speaker is full of knowledge of the bible. He attended college and has a degree. He continues to study books of the bible every day. He was dressed nice wearing a button-up shirt, jacket and dress shoes. He delivered the speech in a very informative but timely manner. The message he gave the audience was full of clarity and very well organized. He stated three main points of the message and explained further in detail. Pastor Steve Scoggins told the audience personal stories and advice that everyone could relate to. He was very personable and easy to listen to. The pastor spoke to many hearts and I believe he reached out to several souls that were listening. The message was very relevant to the audience and the information given was very practical, useful, and overall informative.
