Christopher Character Traits
Throughout the book, I noticed that Christopher wasn't afraid to be himself. He has his own
mindset that is different from most of the characters in the book, and he expressed that very well
throughout the book. Christopher knows that he is different from others, but he doesn't really
don't much about it. Most of the characters didn't understand why he acted out in those way but
since he couldn't help himself, so he learned to love himself for who he is. I honestly think
Christopher loves himself for who he is, and wouldn't want to change himself. For example on
pages 106-107 Christopher’s mother writes about a time they went Christmas shopping together.

Christopher wasn't embarrassed because nobody knows now he
feels towards certain things, and how his mind works. Christopher likes the fact that nobody
knows that because he loves to be alone. He never said it in the book, but Christopher likes being
different, he accepts the fact that he is different because different is good.
In a way that I am different from others is my allergies. I am different from other people because
some people don't have allergies. Allergies are “a damaging immune response by the body to a
substance, especially pollen, fur, a particular food, or dust, to which it has become
hypersensitive.” In my case, I get really bad allergies towards cat fur, dust and spring time. The
way it damages my body is by making me sneeze a lot, my eyes start to get very itchy, red, and
watery, and also my nose starts to run. My experience from being different from others is that I
can't really play with cats like them because my allergies get really bad, and I love cats. On a
level that I can relate to Christopher is not that high. He goes through much more things than I go
through with my allergies, but I can say that I'm not afraid to be myself just like him.
