Chocolat Character Analysis
Chocolat is a romantic comed-drama based on the novel of Joanne Harris, and directed Lasse Hallström. The movie stars Juliet Binoche, Judi Dench, Alfred Molina, Lena Olin and Johnny Depp. One day, Vianne and her daughter, Annouk arrive in a conservative French village to open a chocolate shop. First, the people are hostile not only because of she is a stranger, but because of the season of Lent. Vianne has to face many difficulties because of the influential mayor. Eventually, she manages the make friends and change the attitude of the whole town with the help of her amiable personality and her delicious chocolate creations. I think there was a perfect harmony between the actors and the roles they were playing. Every character was loveable and although most of them were they just supporting actors they managed to the movie would not be the same without them. I also liked the villain of the movie; I think Alfred Molina did a great job

The majority of the melodies is breath-taking and matches the mysterious story of Vianne.
All the characters were loveable. Everyone will find his or her favourite whether it is a passionate and confident woman, a sweet little girl, a wise old lady, a sensible woman or an irresistible “bad guy”.
Chocolat reminds me of a sweet fairy tale. The beautiful town and its atmosphere makes me want to spend my summer vacation in a tiny French town. I would like to live there, wear their clothes and just be part of their community
Chocolate may seem like a simple movie, but it is very complex. It makes us think about acceptance in general, living life to the fullest, relaxing, religion, domestic violence and other important topics.
