Chinese Immigration To America Analysis
In conclusion, Chinese mother who immigrated to America after losing everyone and everything that she had knew back in China, to start a new life. The mother tries to make her daughter become a prodigy in some way or another, scolding her and pushing her every time she has a new idea for her. After all of these tests and tries the daughter gets fed up and starts to feel pressured and does not try at all to please her mother. She realized that her mom is trying to change her into a person who is just not her. Therefore, she didn’t follow her mother’s dreams anymore. Who, then, was in the right and who in the wrong? With closer examination and deeper contemplation, the answer is not so clear. Both the mother and daughter made choices,

    In the short story “Two Kinds” by Amy Tan, with the use of epiphany and turning points the reader is able to see the protagonist’s growth and change in personality throughout the story.
