My dad and I got onto the Jet Ski. It was almost shaped like a motorcycle. It was red and yellow. I was very excited because I had never been on one before. My dad and I took off our glasses because we didn’t want to lose them in the rough, raging ocean. Without my glasses I couldn’t see that much but, I didn’t think much of it because I was so excited to ride a Jet Ski. After we got on, the guy we had rented it from showed my dad the basic controls. Front, back, right and left. Then my dad started the Jet Ski and off we went!
At first it was really fun. The silky, salty water splashed my face as we sped a long. Luckily I was wearing goggles so the salty water didn’t hit my eyes. We went farther and farther until finally we couldn’t see the shore. It was just blue-green water as far as we could see. We sped along for about twenty minutes. My dad checked his watch and said that we should probably start going back. He relied on me because my dad is virtually blind without his glasses. He called me his “navigator” because I can see better than he can but, I still can’t see that well.
I navigated as best as I could for about ten minutes but I couldn’t see anything. It was just blurry water. Finally, I could faintly see a beach in the distance. I directed my dad and the Jet Ski to go in that direction. We past a boat and I asked if this was the resort beach that we came from. The people on the boat shook there head and mentioned the name of a different resort. So we turned around and went in a different direction.
