According to BBC News this week:

This week the biggest thing that took place in the news is Chicago cubs has been celebrating after they beat Los Angeles Dodgers, took them to the world baseball serious for the first time in 71 years. This win boost Chicago with a darker reputation the last years, Chicago beat Los Angeles and New York in the last few years in terms of gang murders.

According to CNN News this week:
