One example of this would be the Lance Armstrong scandal back in 2012. Lance Armstrong, for those who do not know him, was a decorated Tour de France cyclist. His career was at its peak from 1999 to 2005. His successful career resulted in him winning seven consecutive Tour de Frances. But then what happened? It had been proven that he had been doping before all seven games, which is cheating. He was stripped of all seven Tour de France awards. He never raced again. But still, many people will say that cheating does not cause any real long time damage to one’s self. They would be wrong, because it is clearly depicted in this incident.
