Cheating Is Wrong Research Paper
Many people may argue that cheating is okay, that it doesn’t cause any real harm, and that it doesn’t need a lot of press or concern. For many years, cheating has been the last resort for many people, whether they’re athletes, students, scholars, etc. But many people do not realize that when they were caught, did they not get in trouble? Many athlete scandals and cheating stories have the cheater facing consequences for their actions. But yet, people still believe that there is no real problem to cheating. Well, there is a problem. It is unfair to the many people who work hard to achieve their goals to have all their hard work and interest thrown away by cheaters who want to gain the upper hand. It is with this that I say yes, cheating is wrong.
One of my reasons on why I believe that cheating is wrong is because it does not teach the cheater anything. Cheaters will continue to copy and plagiarize, but does that mean they’ve learned something, something they’ll remember for the rest of their lives and never forget? One example of this would be the Lance Armstrong scandal back in 2012. Lance Armstrong, for those who do not know him, was a decorated Tour de France cyclist. His career was at its peak from 1999 to 2005. His successful career resulted in him winning seven consecutive Tour de Frances. But then what happened? It had been proven that he had been doping before all seven games, which is cheating. He was stripped of all seven Tour de France awards. He never raced again. But still, many people will say that cheating does not cause any real long time damage to one’s self. They would be wrong, because it is clearly depicted in this incident.
