As a childcare provider, it can be challenging to obtain established and productive relationships with parents of the young children I care for. My goal as the childcare provider is to have the best relationship with these children’s parents as possible, because good and positive relationships lead to success. I have strategized a plan to obtain my goal. What I plan to do is offer the parents all the information and knowledge about myself and my teaching to them. I will strongly advise my parents to ask questions and give them honest and factual answers. I will provide a loving, nurturing, educational environment, caring for their child to the best of my abilities. I will keep communication

The starting point for this work is to ensure that you have a good relationship with parents. This is important because if parents do not trust their child's key person or do not enjoy working with them, they are less likely to take on board their advice and suggestions. In addition, we also need to think about barriers that might make it difficult for parents, such as having several young children or working long hours. Recognising these barriers should help us to…

As a child I always loved my teachers. They always found a way to make learning fun and exciting. I knew I wanted to work with kids when I got older and help them find learning just as fun and exciting as I did. Everyday I’d come home from school and teach what I’ve learned to my younger siblings using the same methods my teachers used. They began finding learning just as enjoyable as I’d hoped. From then on I was inspired to be part of the life changing team of childcare workers and instill the thoughts that learning is fun in young children today.…

My first client was a single mom who needed to go on state daycare assistance to help pay for her child’s care. Knowing the struggles my own mother had, I agreed to become a registered childcare provider with the intention of helping her. I jumped into registration and began the trainings that were required by the state. I was heartbroken hearing different provider’s lack of vision for quality childcare. I was determined, “if I am going to do this, I am going to provide care with excellence.” It truly was a turning point for me.…

When I will be working with children, there is many duties and responsibilities I must carry out in order to care for their well being. This will include having a good knowledge of a child’s development. Therefore this will ensure that I am eligible to care for them, allowing me to keep them safe and know what is expected for the age. Meaning if a child is around the age of three and has not begun to speak must take precautions and let the nursery know of the this problem. I must also be able to work well with the parents of the children I care for so they can trust in me to care for the children once they are not there. Having this bond with the parents allows be to approach them with no fear and be confident in speaking to them about the child, but I must ensure that I keep a professional relationship with the parents and this will show that I give them the respect that the deserve. Furthermore I must always be on their side meaning I must not push my ideas and opinions across of how they wish for their children to be brought up, for example if they wish for their child to have a vegetarian diet I must follow there instructions.…

As a childcare provider, I help children gain a sense of self by labeling their cubbies with their photos, names, and birthdates. I help them recognize and pronounce their names. I include activities and books about different cultures and different home environments. I provide activities that they are capable of completing and materials that are age appropriate, I encourage children to share stories about their family. I ask them about their family, culture, and gender, I respect and recognize their emotional and physical needs. I help them with activities if my help is needed. I show empathy toward their feelings. I encourage them to talk about their feelings, and how they are different, and give them appropriate ways to express them. Whether they are sad, mad, or stressed. I comfort them. I respect if children have different religions and find ways to get them to participate in activities. I encourage them to be independent, to serve themselves, use the restroom, put things back where they were, and to care for their classroom environment. I first show them how to clean, and then have them do it.…
