Charlie Chaplin once said, “You need power, only when you want to do something harmful. Otherwise, love is enough to get everything done.” This quote means that the things people do out of love for someone, is much stronger than the things that people do out of hate for that person. Through Charlie Chaplin’s many successful silent films he had entertained and brought joy to the people who watched them. When America was going through a hard time with the crash in the stock market, the many movies that they had watched had begun to take their minds off the recent problems going on in their country. He made one million dollars per each of his films that he acted in. His best known film was called “Gold Rush” and he had made 1.5 thousand dollars on that film alone. The first film he had appeared in was titled “Tramp” was produced by Keystone Studios over one hundred years ago. That film had Charlie is staring as the goof, only appearing in a few scenes, but he would soon be a household name. A large reason he had begun having problems were because he had seemed to have views on communism, and he had refused to participate in the war that was happening. A young actress by the name of Joan Barry and had supported the child till she had turned twenty one years old. He had also been married to four different women each ending in a divorce. The most recent count of his children was eleven.
Through the words and the way Charlie was involved in his movies had paved the way for many actors, directors, and writers of today. Charlie might have been a silent film actor, but he had affected the way that comedy had involved throughout the many years of him being a part of the film.
