Charities
UK charities are nonprofit organizations that carry out activities that help society such as charity events and fund raising. These charities cover a huge range of important good causes including animal charities, cancer charities, children's charities, disability charities, environment charities, health charities, housing charities and people charities. Funding for vital research into medical conditions such as cancer or heart disease, helping children, diminishing poverty and help in raising awareness of endangered species by such acts of “adoption of animals" sponsorship schemes, has also been the aim of several UK based charities.
UK Online Charities aim to provide you with a guide for finding, joining and helping UK based as well as other International charities. Online charities require donations, for that setting up a monthly direct debit to donate is required or by just registering your support for your selected charity. Charity credit cards are also a way of donating money to your chosen cause. The 190,000+ charities in England and Wales are generally registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. The Charity Commission has an online register listing them all.
Millions of children are still denied proper healthcare, food, education and protection. Some of most prominent children's charities working efficiently in UK are Save the Children UK, the United Nations Children's Fund and Children In Need. These charitable organizations raise funds to help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. Every penny donated is distributed in the form of grants to a wide range of projects helping children affected by homelessness, neglect, abuse or poverty, or those who have encountered serious illness, disabilities and psychological disorders. Funding is targeted on the areas of greatest need and money is allocated homogeneously to ensure that children in all corners of the UK receive a fair share of what is raised.

I chose to do my I-search paper on Ronald McDonald House Charities because I have a personal interest in this charity. My interest comes from the birth of my first grandchild. My son and daughter-in-law learned that their child would be born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. The doctor’s explained that one in twenty-seven hundred babies are born with this. CDH is where there is a hole in the diaphragm and as the baby develops its organs, such as stomach spleen, intestines, and liver move up into the chest cavity putting pressure on the lungs. This causes the lungs to be under developed. They were told that the baby would be hospitalized for about three months. They were told to contact the Ronald McDonald House to make arrangements for a room after the birth of the baby. They were putting on a waiting list and were asked to let the manager of the RMHC at the University of Virginia know when they were at their due date.…

The not-for-profit sector otherwise known as the third sector is present worldwide, consisting of various community organisations that are driven by the human desire to assist others without gaining personal benefits, and bring about social change (Hudson, 2009). Categorised into three aspects, the basis for such organisations include professional and industrial associations, member benefit groups, and charities. As the not-for-profit sector becomes increasingly influential with providing hope, advocacy and policy for communities, a majority of its successive strength rests heavily upon people who donate funds and volunteer their time (Our Community, 2012).…

Charity is a neat way to help out people in need. Society presents opportunities every now and then when the time or donation would be highly appreciated. Charities all over the world are finding it more and more difficult to run their organizations. Although charities are tax-exempt, they still have expenses such as operating and administrative costs that are not easy to cover, while still being able to “be charitable”, and support their cause. So, many NGOs are obligated to motivate people to give their support by offering motivation. Another factor is that there are so many different charities fighting for the donor’s dollar. There are charities for everything from alley cats to children in Zimbabwe. So with all the choices, donors might choose to give where they receive something back.…
