“We could do it every night to pass the time!” exclaimed the swimmer.
“Yes!” cheered the surrounding travelers, “that will bring a little entertainment to our journey!”
“Well, I have a tale I will gladly tell.” said the swimmer”It’s sad but, joyous! Brave but, cowardly! Now gather ‘round and listen close for this is my tale!”

A scene that I disagree on was how Adam handled the situation of getting into the ICU to see how Mia was doing. What Adam did was he and Kim came up with a plan to try and sneak into the ICU by distracting the nurse and security grads. In my opinion what should have been done was since only family members were allowed to visit her Adam could have asked to be watched at all times during the visit by the security grads.A short passage from the book that I found meaningful was when Adam came inside to see Mia; he tried to help her with the decision of staying or leaving. This short passage was significant to me because it led to the development of the theme, love could never be broken apart no matter what the situation is, it will always be there. With the love and support that her boyfriend Adam gave her it made her more…

The overarching theme of Kite Runner is redemption. Taking that in the violence and misery incorporated in the book was necessary. With its use a realistic picture of Afghanistan and decisions that could lead to regret one almost forgets it’s a work of fiction. The violence, especially regarding the rape of Hassan and Sohrab, was written so detailed that it leaves scars on the reader. It fully captures the readers and embeds the feeling of guilt Amir holds, into ones conscience. It is almost as if the readers themselves is Amir instead of just following his story line.…

I kept my eyes trained on my feet. Heat clouded my brain. I felt a strong pull over me to stop, to slow down or even take a short cut. More than anything, I wanted to wander into a ditch, curl up and pity myself. I thought about my goal- thirty minutes or under- which, to other girls on our team would be an easy feat. I thought about how proud I would be if I finished. The lactic acid in my thighs overcame me, and I began to walk. My feet dragged on the ground in protest, feeling like my grandmother's needlepoint. I cursed myself continuously. Girls who were behind me started to pass. The many ahead became specks of dust in my line of vision. A tsunami washed over me and gathered behind my eyes. The mysterious tidal wave overcame me as I sunk into the seabed, drowning in…
