Character Analysis: Jinsen
In this Chapter, Jakob starts by asking Justin about what happened to Jinsen. He tells him that he only has a bruise on his neck but it could have been way worse. As he was walking to Econ, Magnur, by himself, asks to talk to him. He asks Justin why he is alway hanging around Jinsen. He said, “he is a total freak. Why do you even hang around with or stick up for him?” Confidently yet cowardly admitting that Jinsen in his friend, Justin tells Magnur to just ignore him, but he thinks that Jinsen is the hardest thing to ignore in the whole school. The weird hair, oversized shirts, and the way he begs at lunch, Jinsen is quite a view that no one can miss. After Econ, Justin heads over to art and finds Jinsen. They talk about how it went at the art presentation. He had been at CAC showing his banner to one of the head artists. Jinsen said it went great, and if the man really liked his art he might even get a scholarship to this really fancy art summer program. His art career was doing great while his school reputation was going down.

It didn’t seem like it but still it was weird that he came to talk to Justin about that. I think that Magnur was actually wondering what Justin saw in him, all the good Jinsen had. I think that he make actually subtly not completely despise Jinsen.
A connection I can make to this chapter is to a moment in my life. I wasn’t really into this person at my old school, but many people seemed to like her. To me, she seemed obnoxious and just a bit too much. I asked some of her close friends about her and she ended up to have some great personalities. I ended up even being friends with her, not close friends, but we had a way better understanding of each other after. So maybe Magnur will end up the same way with
