Deceit I also enjoyed Goody Cloyse's character. Goody Cloyse character is based on an actual woman (Sarah Cloyce), who was tried and convicted of witchcraft during the historical Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Her character proves that people hide their real identities. Goody is a Christian woman who assists young people study the Bible, but in secret she performs magic rituals and joins witch conventions in the forest.…
I genuinely did not expect to learn this much from the book Unbroken. The story of Louie Zamperini was unexpectedly much more understandable and relatable than I first imagined. Seeing the main character was a former war hero, I found it surprising I was able to connect to him as I happen to be fourteen. In my opinion, readers can easily compare similar situations in their life, regardless of their age. A point often overlooked, Louie is a true survivor. He was stranded forty-seven days on a crammed raft, as well as beaten without remorse at a prison camp for two years. Louie was stripped of his friends as he watched them either be transferred or slowly die. He witnessed many accounts of sexual abuse to innocent and helpless animals, as well…

Jason came out wanting to share his experience with others. In The Ultimate Gift Jason said, “I had no idea that the greatest gift anyone could…

In “The Ones Who Walked Away,” the citizens and residents in this city seem to be happy and enjoy their life in the Omelas. In the Omela’s the people know of the existence of a child who is living under terrible circumstances but yet they still go on with their lives as if though nothing is happening. The reason for this is because an unknown character placed terms on the city of Omelas where if they express some sort of compassion to the child suffering, all of their happiness and prosperity will change to the total opposite. In the text it states that, “They (referring to the people of Omelas) would like to do something…

A separate peace is finding peace in one's own self. The innocence of Gene, Finny, and Leper will be obliterated so they can achieve peace. Growing to adulthood forces them to ether choose evolve or perish. “They were preparing it, if you see what I mean, for the future. Everything has to evolve or else it perishes.” (Knowles 125). It show how the boys achieve a separate peace or died evolving to adulthood. Achieving peace one’s own self is essential to go on with their life without regrets.…
Innocent, young, naïve; this is how Connie was at her age of fifteen. She liked the attention boys gave her and how it made her feel. A man named Arnold Friend, whose much older than her, has stalked Connie and wants to convince her to go for a ride in his car. Connie doesn’t notice the man’s older features and this causes her young mind to contemplate going with Arnold in his car. Connie is more conflicted with herself, she battles to make the right choices especially since she is so young and taking advantage of an innocent mind was something she was not prepared for (Oates, Joyce Carol, 2016).…
Every character in the book is extremely different but in some ways that's how they all come together. When you look at each character individually you can tell that one of these characters would have came together on their own to be friends.…
