1. Discuss the developments that led to the American Revolution. pg ref 27-32, Learning Objective (LO) 2.1 The Purpose that led to the American Revolution also called the “Seven Year War” was because of the trade and taxation that was happing between Britain and the French. The developments of the commercial and industry and a favorable balance of trade, which Britain was really strict on import/export control on the colonies. 2. Explain what inspired the Constitutional Convention in 1787. pg 33-34, LO 2.2
The Constitutional Convention was inspired because the economic turmoil and with domestic tranquility had going crazy so congress passe3d a official resolution. This was the purpose of “the sole and expressing of revising the Articles of Confederation. 3. Describe the system of checks and balances created by the Framers. pg 38-43, LO 2.4
The system check and balances was created to ensure that government power won’t be abusive manner and to give each branch power and control the actions of one another. This also meant separation powers that divided power for the tree branches and give each branch independence ensured by the constitution. 4. Describe the meaning and purpose of the Ninth Amendment. pg 43-46. lo 2.5
The meaning and purpose of the ninth amendment was guaranteeing that the rights enumerated in the constitution would not be construed as denying or jeopardizing other rights of the people. 5. Describe the differences between the First and Second Continental Congress. pg 27-32, lo 2.1
The First Continental Congress means meeting held in Philadelphia from September 5 to October 26, 1774, in which fifty-six delegates(from every colony except Georgia )adopted a resolution in opposition to the Coercive Act.
Second Continental Congress means meeting that convened in Philadelphia on May 10, 1775, at which it was decided that an army should be raised and George Washington of Virginia was named commander in chief. 6. Describe the

    This system was I will show examples of how this system works, such as the legislative branch overrides the executive by overriding the president’s veto. The executive branch can override the legislative branch because the president can veto congressional legislation. Executive over Judicial by the president being able to nominate the judges. The Judicial over executive by the court being able to declare presidential acts unconstitutional. The Judicial over the legislative by the being able to declare laws unconstitutional. Congress over the courts because the senate confirms the president’s nominations, congress can impeach judges and remove them from office. If you search up a picture of the Checks and Balances system you will then see how this system balance each other out. As James Madison once said, “The constant aim is to divide and arrange the several offices in such a manner as that they may be a check on the other.” Basically what he is saying is that each one of these positions check and balance each other out. So this is the second to last document, this system makes sure no branch is too powerful. And so far as you can see this system really helps with guarding us from tyranny by checking and balancing each other…
