Challenges and Rewards of a Career as an Electrician
2 Theirs always that personal satisfaction you get when you get a job done perfectly and the customers happy, theirs no other feeling like it. Although becoming an electrician can be challenging such as schooling and training, it can also be rewarding when it gets to insurance and salary, however it can be a dangerous job if the necessary safety measures are not taken. No further training is required unless enforced by the business you work for. A high school diploma is required to become a certified electrician. The jobs of electricians are expected to grow over 20 percent from 2010 to 2020. This is considered a faster then average growing job. With the economy still reeling from the effects from the effects of recession and unemployment, electrical contractors are re-evaluating their businesses and taking on new and different roles to remain competitive (Bloom 12). Overall growth of the construction industry and maintenance of older equipment in manufacturing plants also will require more electricians. Although the global economy plays a big part in the number of electricians in the world, there will always be a great demand for them. Homes and businesses will always need to be wired, if it was not for electricians that would be pretty difficult. There are so many different types of electricians that nobody is aware of. There are industrial electricians, commercial electricians, domestic electricians, construction electricians, outdoor electricians or lineman, and aviation electricians. Some math is involved, such as when you are running wires through a new building or home. When an electrician is setting up a breaker, there are a bunch of switches and panels that need to be hooked up correctly using math. If the finished product is not correct, the switches on the wall would work for something completely different, probably not even in that room. If that’s the case, an electrician would have to go back and edit the circuit breakers

I knew it was a very hot job, especially during the summer. I also knew that this field of work requires a ton of practice before mastering it. This job can also be dangerous and requires many safety procedures before actually performing it. One other fact that I knew about welding is that it is very hard work and a challenge. It is a challenge because of the patience and dedication it takes to learn how to produce a quality weld. My expectations of the automotive repair industry are to learn everything I need to know about fixing a car from the simplest thing to the most complicated. My goals are to go to school and study what I like to become a better person and try to succeed in life. Also I want to transfer from Citrus College to a UC and major in business and hopefully one day have a chance to run a shop with my father. The personal sacrifices that I will go through are that I will need to take time to do homework and study instead of being out with my friends partying and doing what we do for fun, to wake up early and be in class on time and ready to learn, I will also have to cut my evening short to get enough rest to go to school the next day and be completely focused this will be my biggest challenge because for my last two years of high school I only went to school for two hours and got no homework or ever did class work. I think that in order to succeed in the automotive repair industry u have to have a good character to work with the customer and coworkers because it is a job where communication is very important. Pay expectations are that the middle 50 percent of technicians earned between $11.31 and $20.75 per hour. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $8.70, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $26.22 per hour. Many experienced technicians employed by car dealers and independent repair shops receive a commission based cost of labor which is charged to the customer. Under this method, weekly earnings depend on the amount of work completed. ("http://www.salary.com/mysalary.asp") The Training needed to become an automotive technician can be done at a community college program to receive an associate degree or certificate with training over 2 years by building up the automotive training with instruction in English, basic mathematics, computers, and other subjects. First of all, Electronics Engineering is my field of study, it would be typical that workers go to houses to replace, install or fix any issues with electronics devices. To illustrate this better, if a customer is having difficulties with the installation of their internet router, they will call the company responsible and the company may send one or two technicians that will follow the problem through and figure out what is the most likely problem and finally fix it. Electronics Engineering is a field that requires the interaction of both customer and technicians, it is essential that they both cooperate in order to solve the problem as soon as possible.…
