Chad Tredway's Speech Analysis
Chad Tredway, a Loyola alumnus, came to our business seminar to discuss how his Jesuit education influenced his success in his career, as well as gave us advice on how to make most of our time here at Loyola. He talked highly of the multitude of resources Loyola provides such as career fairs, mentors, and devoted staff members. Tredway enforced the notion of self-advertising and recommended we should not sit back and wait for opportunities to come to us; instead, we must go out and take charge of our life, set goals, and work every day to achieve them.
His speech was motivating as he encouraged us to be our best selves and never stop striving for perfection.

The stage had a red rectangle in the middle and a podium off to the right with a big screen in the background. The general purpose of the speech was to give her background and also bring up some of the issues that are plaguing our water systems today. His doctors told him that he had terminal cancer. Several months later, he received the Arthur Ashe Courage award at the 1993 ESPY Awards presented by ESPN. The speaker today is Kevin Garrett, a Christian Businessman and Entrepreneur and the President for the development of Cold Stone Creameries all around America. This lecture is about failure, and learning to succeed in the midst of failure. Mr. Garrett states that failure is required to achieve success, and I like that he talks about this, because there is a lot of failure that happens throughout life. All people fail, but only those who stand up courageously after failure can truly succeed in life. Suffering is also a part of failure, but failure does not equal suffering. Since the fall of man, people have suffered much because of the sin of man, and no one can escape this fate, even though it may be no fault of your own. While humans fall often, God can use our suffering to bring about great successes, as long as we put our faith in Christ and leave the results up to Him.…

She is the Director of Social Services at North Mississippi State Hospital and has been working there for sixteen years. Her topic of the presentation was mental illnesses and schizophrenia. I really enjoyed her speech because I had little previous knowledge of mental illness. Even though I have taken a few classes that discussed the illnesses, I can understand better with stories or a way to imagine a situation and Debra provided that. Information that I thought I knew, was stuff I had assumed from watching television shows and movies. Most of that information is inaccurate.…
