Cessna C172 G1000 SAFETY PROCEDURES GUIDE
1. The starting, run-up, and shut-down check list will be used on every flight.
2. All pilots are required to taxi at a safe taxi speed, crawling speed on the ramp, walking speed on the taxiways.
3. The minimum safe altitudes prescribed in FAR Part 91 shall be adhered to.
4. All pilots shall maintain a constant vigilance for other aircraft while taxiing, departing, and entering high density areas. This is not to imply that you should not be vigilant at all times when operating an aircraft, but extra caution should be used in certain areas.
5. If at any time the student pilot cannot complete a solo cross-country flight because of weather or for any other reason, he/she should land at the closest suitable airport along his/her route of flight. Upon landing the airplane, he/she should call Frederick Flight Center, Inc., and ask a flight instructor for further instructions.
WEATHER MINIMUMS: (There are 3 sets of student pilot minimums as follows)
1. Local Solo Flight, in the Pattern at KFDK Only: No student pilot will be dispatched on a local solo flight in the pattern at KFDK unless the current weather is, and the forecast weather is to remain as listed below:
Ceiling 2000 feet Visibility 4 miles Winds* 10 kts or less
2. Local Solo Flight in the Designated FFC Practice Area: No student pilot will be dispatched on a local solo flight to/from the FFC practice area unless the current weather is, and the forecast weather is to remain as listed below until the student's ETA:
Ceiling 3000 feet Visibility 4 miles Winds* 10 kts or less Crosswind component* 5 kts or less
3. Solo Cross-Country Flight: No student pilot will be dispatched on a solo cross-country flight unless the current weather is, and the forecast weather is to remain as listed below for the estimated time enroute (ETE) plus one hour after estimated time of arrival (ETA):
Ceiling 5000 feet
