Center For The Army Profession Case Study
A brief history of the Center for the Army Profession. Then an explanation of the primary mission of each component as well as how each one supports the other including examples of what support looks like. Finally, connecting the knowledge of each component to the importance of trust, and continuing professional development through the, ‘America’s Army, Our Profession’, campaign. Center for the Army Profession began as an idea for the Army Center of excellence for the Professional Military Ethic (ACPME) in 2008. In May 0f 2010 the Army Chief of staff (CSA) decided to reassign the ACPME from United States Military Academy (USMA) to Combined Arms Center (CAC), and Commanding General (CG) Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) expanded the …show more content…
This program allows the soldiers of participating units to work closely together and ensure reserve soldiers remain mission ready. An example of this program is: at Fort Bragg, the program will allow the 824th parachute riggers to work more closely with those belonging to the 82nd Airborne.     As the Army transitions from the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, the organization is well served to take a long look in the mirror. After ten plus years of deployments, our combat tested warriors are sure to possess more than enough valuable knowledge to reinforce and improve upon our status as a profession. A TRADOC published paper explains “to be a professional is to understand, embrace, and competently practice the expertise of the profession.” I believe the profession of arms exists and there are many components that reinforce this argument. Among these components, initial entry training and institutional learning, shared values, and a monopoly on our mission are three of the most important tenants. All Soldiers must graduate from Basic Combat Training and all officers must graduate from a commissioning source. Similar to medical school or law school in other traditional professions, these schools set the foundation for years of practice that will lead to expert work.
