In the essay titled, “The Tyranny of the Clock” by George Woodcock and the film, “ Nick of Time” demonstrates how the movement of the clock sets the tempo of the lives of people. People become the servants of time, always hurrying through meals, rushing to catch busses or trains, all contribute as examples of our regular routines in life. The clock influences the habits of people by making them do things that ruin their health and shorten their life because they are so overwhelmed to do a specific type of job that they let themselves be manipulated by a man-made machine. Woodcock theory believes that the only way a person can live a well balanced and healthy life is by no longer being dominated by time.…

Hi, This is Sonal Mehta. Let me take you through my daily routine. Being a married woman and working mom, I get up at morning 5:00 and get into kitchen to prepare breakfast and tea. In hasty hours, and in the mid of hustle and bustle, I take care of both my kids and help them to get ready for their school. Once they move out for school and husband also goes to office, I take some personal time for newspaper and internet. I prefer to do my content development work in the morning session before kids arrive at home. Once they are back, I serve them lunch and give them nap time. During their nap time also, I ensure to do my freelancing assignments and if it’s not there, I spend time reading novels or watching television. Once they get up, I help…

While reading about the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s English 101 course in the class syllabus, Student Guide, and pages in the DK Handbook, I have made many conclusions. This course is solely about reading, writing, and reflecting on what one has learned. The class will consist of a lot of critical evaluations, in others’ works and especially in our own works. The course builds on what students already know about reading and writing, and it invites them to develop more complicated strategies for responding to their own concerns and the concerns of others. Mark schemes are prepared by the Principal Examiner and considered, together with the relevant questions, by a panel of subject teachers. This mark scheme includes any amendments made at the standardisation meeting attended by all examiners and is the scheme which was used by them in this examination. The standardisation meeting ensures that the mark scheme covers the same, correct way. As preparation for the standardisation meeting each examiner analyses a discussed at the meeting and legislated for. If, after this meeting, examiners encounter unusual answers which have not been discussed at the meeting they are required to refer these to the Principal Examiner. It must be stressed that a mark scheme is a working document, in many cases further developed reactions to a particular paper. Assumptions about principles of assessment remain constant, details will change, depending on the content of a particular examination paper.…
